Buffs that can fix BM

Hey fellow hunters, now before i start let me just say that i play both MM and BM, but i’d really really love to play BM in Arenas… It’s no secret that MM is absolutely superior in every single way… I love BM play style but i hardly play it in PvP because it is SO SO weak. I am currently 195 ilvl, Aimed shot does 5k+ dps, rapid fire 6k plus, Arcane shot about 1.6k plus AND its only 20 focus compared to BM’s Cobra shot which is a whopping 35 focus… Every single thing about MM is leagues above BM

Cobra shot does 1.7k+ and its physical damage, Arcane Shot isn’t which means it literally does MORE than Cobra shot… Kill Command literally is also 1.7k dps which i find ridiculous why would it be the same, just a tiny tiny bit more than Cobra Shot…

Changes i think that can easily put BM on par with MM would be to buff Cobra shot to AT LEAST 2.6k dps, Kill Command to 3.1k dps, 10% increase to pet dps AND a 20% survivability increase… Pets die so quickly that there literally is no point playing BM… I also think Blink Strike should return make it do something like 2.5k dps or so and put a 15 second cooldown and an effect that makes using it increase the dps of your next Kill command by 15% damage… Literally just those couple changes could make BM good again… and even then MM would STILL be stronger i bet, but atleast we could enjoy BM once again and it could be competitive… That’s all i have to say guys… I really think these couple things would make BM good… I’d love to hear some feedback on this… Have a great day everyone and thanks for reading!

Cobra shot is all ready our largest % of damage. I dont think we need to buff it anymore.

What we need is to buff kill command so it actually scales off weapon damage. I would enjoy this button being fun the press…

Kill command is certainly undertuned and too weak. Also BM doesn’t have enough burst damage ironically, even with BM and trink / abilities popped. Other classes are MILES ahead in nuke damage in a short duration.

I love BM spec and usually main it, and have for ages, but I already game quit a couple weeks ago since I am very VERY bearish that Blizzard will identify hunter needs and attend to them in anything resembling a reasonable amount of time.

You can already see they whiffed on it with the recent warrior / rogue / wind walker BUFFS and no hunter changes. In my experience this always (virtually 100% certain) means that hunter changes are FAR away and could take 6-9 months to land.

Don’t wait for it.

Been reading these recent post about BM hunters, I am glad to see that BM hunter players are sticking together, and you can tell a lot BM hunters really love playing it, SO BLIZZ, DONT IGNORE US OR YOU WILL LOSE US.

KC needs a buff and they need to add a damage increase to frenzy to make it more important to keep up in top of it being a bigger impact when you lose them.

I’m okay cobra shot being weaker if Kill Command felt rewarding to press. I think a 25% damage buff to Kill Command could quite literally make us competitive.

Then across all specialisations Pet survivability could use a rework/tweak (obviously this being one of the biggest mistakes blizzard has made second to removing traps from BM/MM in early legion).

Last time I check Kill Command is like does 10% more damage then Cobra Shot, and I was like “is this real?”

I’d like to see instant damage removed from beastial wrath so they take it off global cool down.

Pets made tankier.

I’d like to see damage given back to kill command. I think honestly 25-35% isn’t even breaking it.

I’d like to see frenzy stacks be very visible and not just on the pet bars. Would be nice not to have to get a weak aura that can’t even be used in tournaments. As I believe weak aura is against tourney rules.

I’d like to see hpal not be able to sac and bop my traps while he’s in trap or stun. This cucks the hunter goes so much.

I need to see stomp talent not make barbed shot break our own traps. That move is used way to often to have it break our traps. Mid burst we shouldn’t have to lose all stacks due to bad mechanics.

I’d like to see dismiss pet returned to arena. It’s needed now. For multiple reasons I’ve gone through in other threads.

I’d like to see our legendary craven strategem also give our feign death the 90% damage reduction for 1.5 seconds after using so we can pick another pvp talent. Considering everyone’s legendarys are insane and that one is moderate. As is every game u get small benefit from that legendary as ur gonna run survival tactics every pvp game anyway.

adding a charge of barbed, buffing KC, fixing the pet AI
make the second pet non talented and buff it slightly <------please!?
(fyi second pet is mostly cosmetic as it uses a portion of main pets dps.)
a big one…give us a shot or two that isnt on the GCD.

there is so many things blizz could do. they have not done anything since legion.

I would like to see animal companion just add a second pet at 50% power instead of reducing both pets by 35%. It wouldn’t do much in terms of overall damage change but it also prevents every other pet being nerfed.

Frenzy is a core part of the specs mechanics… it needs to add 5% pet damage per stack as well as the 30% speed increase. That would bring BM inline with MM on top of making mastery closer in power to other secondaries.

The following is my opinion on how to fix BM;

First and foremost, Kill Command needs a huge buff. For our ‘big hitter’, it doesn’t do much damage. Hell, in my parses, it’s 5th or 6th most damage. It should be first or second. A 50% or greater increase in damage would help.

Our Legendaries need to be better balanced. SFE is ridiculous for a BiS when we’re in an expansion chock full of raid bosses and affixes that require tanks to constantly move. We were completely overlooked in the “quality of life” Legendary department. Warriors get two extra charges of Heroic Leap. Why don’t we have an option that gives us two extra charges of disengage? Where is the Legendary that gives us an extra charge of Barbed Shot or even a chance for Barbed Shot to add a second stack of Frenzy? Maybe a Legendary that increase the damage of Kill Command?

I know I’m dreaming, But BW used to make the hunter immune to all CC. How awesome would that be?

Or instead of that during BW all of the hunters ranged ignore LoS similar to the Kyrian ability.

IDK I just feel like using BW should have more of an impact on the player’s gameplay instead of just the extra damage.

Not sure what you mean, do you mean he Ultimate sacrifices his teammate while he’s trapped? Because that’s not possible, nor is BoP’ing a teammate.

He can BoP himself while stunned to remove the stun (because it’s physical) and sacrifice his teammate, but if you’re careful you get Sac/BoP for free without even trapping lol.

Apart from the damage buffs others here have already mentioned, and more…

I would argue that the below would allow for certain players to more easily find a playstyle which they can enjoy.

  • Talent: Animal Companion - made into a baseline passive choice we can make rather than a talent choice. 1 pet or 2 pets, the total damage dealt is/should be the same and abilities used, also the same. Solely an aesthetic choice.
  • Talent: Dire Beast - reworked to how it was designed in Legion. Where you could choose either that or Barbed Shot(DF).
  • Talent: A Murder of Crows - should be baseline. Replaced by a talent that makes Kill Command extend the remaining duration of Crows. Or one that allows some interaction in order to otherwise empower Crows.
  • Talent: Stampede - should be moved to the 50-row, replacing Bloodshed. It should also be reworked to a version similar to the original design(where you summoned some of your stabled pets).
  • Talent: Bloodshed - should be moved to the 15-row to take the spot of the former talent Animal Companion(now a baseline choice).
