Compare void elves to nightborne. Void elves get a chance to get a 5% bonus for 12 seconds every 2 minutes, and nightborne get a 1% boost all the time. I dont even like the 5% bonus because it makes you feel rushed to cast as many spells as possible before it runs out.
There’s also the spacial rift. I have never used this thing because of how useless it is. It’s like mage’s blink, except you need to wait for a marker to walk over to the maximum distance you can teleport, which is not far at all, and you need to activate the ability to teleport there. The only situation I can think of with this ability is in PVP if you were able to predict being teleported into the middle of the enemy team and need a recall back. It’s terrible and compared to the 2 nightborne racials like a free mailbox and AOE slow, it might as well not be there.
I would rather be playing nightborne than a void elf, but nightborne are horde characters and I would need to endure orgrimmar and garbage zandalar instead of stormwind and bolarus. If they were an alliance race I can promise you that nobody would ever pick void elf.
Which means it does nothing for Nightborne Warriors and barely anything for Rogues and Hunters. If anything, they need a buff.
On top of that, Entropic Embrace actually averages out to more dps than most of the 1% racials.
Spatial Rift has its uses. You can use it to bypass the beam on Eye of the Jailer, pass the rings on Xymox, etc. Not every racial has to be useable in every scenario.
You mean like literally 90% of the combat racials?
Escape Artist, Will to Survive, Stoneform, Quaking Palm, etc.
Almost all of them are niche and only useable in specific encounters in PvE.
Very few races (Troll, Orc, Night Elf, Draenei, Zandalari, Vulpera, and Arguably Lightforged and Mag’har) have active abilities that are useful in all content.
Retool Entropic Embrace. Make it a toggle with a constant boost. People who wanna play as High Elves loose that bonus damage. There’s some, ‘meaningful choice,’ for a change.
