bring back 3.0.2 dk’s plz ![]()
Ret is a freaking support class, it was never good dps in OG 2009-2010 wotlk, you 20 year old zoomers need to go back to retail unironically stop crying about balance on a classic era game that’s already finished it’s development life cycle, it’s so cringe.
Ret is top 5 dps in content that actually matters like ICC, you’re support, go play a rogue if you want to do pure dps. or wait till you gear in later content phases…
This doesn’t surprise me, but considering UF is similar I have no idea why they don’t rope it in for logs too, but again that makes the whole debate subjective.
As a whole yes. Very useful for data review of a fight if necessary, but the parsing data is scrutinized and doing certain things can invalidate your log.
It’s not hard to figure out if someone is good or not with enough data to review. If someone can’t break past blues that’s indicative of their ability to play. I’d never argue parses are useless from that standpoint.
The only two are Arcane and BM. BM isn’t ever seriously considered for PvE content, and whatever it is doing in T7 fights is not indicative of what it will do in future content that doesn’t just fall over. The jury is out for Arcane, but I know it’s being discussed. It really is just going to boil down to how big the delta between Arcane and Ret is for how hard it is kicked to the curb.
That aside, where I do see Ret being threatened is 10M viability just because the nature of the 3% buff scaling very well in a 25 man setting versus a 10.
This has been going on since Classic on EU and NA. All you had to do was watch a stream of one of the top fury warriors and watch their button press. Someone they’re hitting 1, 3, x, 6, and Q simultaneously and rapidly at a steady pace.
See, I have the opposite opinion there. I think it’s a lot harder to ditch the ret in 10m because it is a lot harder to replace all of the things they can bring efficiently.
In 25 mans you just have so many slots to work with that it’s really easy to get all the overlap, and I highly doubt that arcane will be under Ret’s DPS, which is the only hurdle it needs to pass in 25 man from a pure min/max perspective there.
Sure, you don’t have to min/max that hard, and ret can do ok if played better than the rest of your raid, but it’s just kind of a mediocre option in 25s.
Lol, how can you look at 3.0 DKs and say they weren’t intended to be stronger than everything else?
Sometimes the best anti troll method is to just engage with their content in earnest.
Uh dk can stand in voids? Maybe I should’ve rerolled after all.
Also agreed, but I think rets should just be nerfed to do half of uh dks gargoyles damage.
The 3% damage bonus doesn’t go as far with less people which makes picking a ret up less appealing, whereas in a 25M setting they can do as little as a third of the DPS and still justify their slot.
And with prot/holy being such strong specs you will try to slot them on that merit alone which results in getting a good chunk of the baseline pally utility. Although yes with less slots available you may have to pick one up if your tank/heal slots aren’t being filled by at least one paladin.
When Blizzard was questioned about why DKs were so overpowered their answer was " They are a heroic class ". They have said same thing about Dracthyr Evoker and its incredible mobility.
Is not a thing in classic.
Yes it is a thing. If it was a thing in retail wotlk then it certainly applies to to wotlk classic with no balancing other than what the last version implemented.
No one ever used the term “hero class”. Try harder.
Dont worry Blizz will not nerf your heroic class.
Relax your safe.
Source?
Cuz heres mine
" A hero class is a character class derived from the base classes, but with exclusive perks. These perks can include a unique starting experience, customization options, resources, class mounts, a higher starting level, and other flavor mechanics. There are currently two hero classes, the death knight and the demon hunter, with Dragonflight introducing a third, the evoker. The concept of a hero class is derived from the “heroes” in Warcraft III.
The term “hero class” is commonly misunderstood to mean that the class is more powerful than other classes. The term instead signifies a unique playstyle and experience,[1] as well as denoting a class of heroes which start at an already “heroic” or “veteran” level, with an experience and gear to match.[2]"
Fake news wiki as a source. LOL
Cite a blue source then.
You first.
You just have to look at the toolkit of the class to realise they are a step ahead of any other class. Samae thing if you look at demon hunters in Legion.
They made the claim the hero class is stronger.
It isnt.
dk looks “strongest” to me.
