Buff Mutilate

For the energy cost this ability seems to have fallen behind. This used to feel decent to press.

You are paying for CP generation, not damage. Even so, it does feel bad. :frowning:

It is buffed in PVP so yes it should be buffed in PVE.

The cost of a stronger mutilate would be that Rupture and/or Envonom and their associated effects would need to feel worse. Mutilate has nice CP generation, which as a builder is pretty important, since one would naturally expect finishers to have a good sized lead in damage.

This “there must be a tradeoff” mental conditioning is why Rogue is where it is right now, that being squarely in the gutter.

You’re not going to get a better time unless you’re vocal about it. This mentality is not it.

its not a trade off thing

generators have to be weaker than spenders or else your ignoring the resource your generator generates. we saw this with ret paladin in Dragonflight. it was a disaster

Truthfully they can increase Mutilate damage via talents for those that want to make a build like that focused on Mutilate. Sub has that in the talent tree buffing Backstab/Gloomblade builds.

Also Mutilate used to hit hard almost like an Eviscerate in TBC but Eviscerate was used because it was energy friendly finisher and no positional like Mutilate had.

Doomblade talent makes Mutilate an auto bleed when used but a choice node there with another talent could be to increased Mutilate direct damage as an example.

I certainly wasn’t suggesting any generator be stronger than a spender, spenders that cost combo points in addition to energy. I’m not sure why you’ve jumped to this wild conclusion.

I think we all understand the relation between builders and spenders. I would be nice if the builders felt better, like how Sub feels during Shadow Dance.

Backstab, Mutilate and Sinister Stike make me cry when I use them. Mutilate is not as bad because of the CP genertion.

Sinister Strike and Mutilate feel good to use in PVP as both are buffed so that is a template for what could be translated into PVE.

As simple as it gets. Bang-on. No notes.

I mean what, is the AI going to get all caught up in its fee-fees if the only melee class with three DPS specs does better DPS? Are the log-chasers going to have a conniption?
Rogue is so resource-starved and defence-sparse that every damn thing it does should hit hard in a PvE setting.
