Ive run 10 m+10 this week and havent gotten a single upgrade, only 1 chest drop that had an useless item.
If you do the math, when hunting for a specific slot, every run you have 40% chance to get a drop out of like 8 items.
0.4 x 0.125 = 0.05
Meaning you have to run 20 +10 keys to probably get the item you want. Each key takes 45 min including time to form group. That is 900 minutes to possibly obtain a 613 item upgrade for your character, totally absurd.

It’s rng, mind you I’m only doing 6 or 7 keys currently I’ve already been super lucky with both my bis trinkets I’m probably less than 4 runs each
Suggest you run with players/classes who can trade the item to you if it drops; increase your chances of acquiring it.

Love timing keys and then getting that 50g each chest with no gear. It makes me pump my arm in victory knowing I do mythic+ for nothing but a weekly single item from the vault. God bless this amazing system.

That’s why I only believe in Currency and Vendors. Long Live PVP Gearing!
Currency serve as a bad luck protection.

Nah, if they buffed it then M+ would be required and then something something forced!

Couldn’t imagine hunting for a slot in an RNG system.

Yup! its also why s4 DF had more participation as well, people felt more rewarded for their efforts, and gearing didnt feel like you were being flayed alive xD (bullions)

You forgot that we’re just on the 2nd Week. There’s 25+ more weeks to get it done. There’s plenty of time.
i have received one item from M+ that seems useful but admittedly it is the sacbrood

i am only starting out in m+ running 2/3s at the moment.
fun to buy consumes, have a 48g repair bill as a tank and get 54g as my reward.
at 610 ilevel, my gear progression is capped until +4, which I hope to get to over the next week.
kind of funny to be so stingy in an electronic game where in game rewards literally cost blizz zero dollars.
the rats only whack away at the lever if they get enough treats.

So what’s the math on getting all the items you want as mythic track from the vault one item per week at a time?
The game seems hellbent on giving me this trinket.
Like I get it’s BIS but I HATE how it works and sometimes you have no eggs/int up which I hate as a healer. ( Ive gotten 2 sacbroods each week in the vault, It’s dropped two more times in m+, which have been my only noticeable drops in m+ )
If only the Grim Batol or Mists or Dawnbreaker trinkets would drop as often Id be a happy panda
i really think they should make the bullion system they had in DF S4 or something similar to that permanent. What if you could just buy pieces with crests, or some other new currency you get for completing M+ and raids, to cover any bad luck streaks.
Then youd be happy and satisfied and not need to grind as much = lower amounts of playtime.
oh but it DOES cost them… if you gear up too quickly, then you’d likely complain “Bored! Unsubbing” and losing that sub-fee is quite costly from the Blizz bean-counter’s perspective.
I do wish all content just rewarded a currency and you can just buy what you need from an NPC vendor (eliminate all item drops in all content except lower-level warbound stuff for your alts); Blizz could “tune” it so that the currency drop rate meets their expectations for “80th percentile is fully geared” because there will always be those try-hards with lots of time that will be ahead of the curve on gearing up.
Last night I ran a CoT +7 to get shoulders (to cata into tier), which I need to replace two vet pieces so I can use my ksm token on my other vet piece.
So I will go from 2pc with at least 2 vet slots to 4pc with 4 hero slots, k?
I by chance found a group all leather armor like me, the run was going pretty swimmingly, they all had 616-619 in their shoulder slots lol
We talk about loot, I bring up how much I want these shoulders.
With 4:16 left on the timer and a wipe on last boss, the bear tank goes “that’s why you don’t bring rdruid”(that’s me), and leaves group.
I’m pretty sure he did that to ensure I didn’t get my comeuppance in case the shoulders dropped. Just being mean-spirited. He was pushing io, has ZERO untimed runs on his raiderio card, so that was his out, blame the rdruid xD
(his main had all 10s and two 11s)
I joined a +8 CoT after that, we all needed gear, well undergeared, we weren’t going to time it, but we agreed to stay for the vault/loot- the only death on last boss was a shammy who stood in a blue swirly then ahnked, it was really quite easy in that higher key level with less gear xD
People are hilarious.
what could go a long way is if they made M+ a little less frustrating and a little more enjoyable.
the rewards being tuned would make it more enjoyable, but maybe make the content a little less frustrating first and see how that goes. I think reversion of the stop/interrupt changes would go a long way to improving quality of life for everyone and we’d see more participation across the board. As it stands it’s just frustrating and hectic.
I actually played way more in DF S4 with the bullion system, because I could easily gear my alts in that season. By far the most M+ I have ever run in a season because I enjoyed trying out my new shinies in M+.
Yeah, my main hit “max gear” a bit quicker, maybe a bit too quick, even just one “free” piece a month would be great as bad luck protection.

If they increase the drops from M Plus then Mythic raid loggers would complain about “forced” content.
