I actually don’t care at all but my buddy onefriskyboi who complains about all the Ferals qqing in the Druid forms and absolutely hates the feral spec said he would play feral if it was better than boomkin.
Help me please blizzard!

Ferals that QQ are Boomkins who can’t figure out Feral
Confused by this but ok dude I’m with you
they took away big bites so make rake and rip tick harder
Perhaps my definition of “big” isn’t what it used to be, but 140-150k hits are typically “big”.
show me a SS where recently a feral in arena 2’s/3’s got a 140-150k fbite! like the fact ur on a lvl 20 just tells me u either kno nothing or just a troll
I constantly get 140-150k FBs in PvE when all my trinkets proc, I don’t see how it would be much different in PvP. -shrug-
Oh dear God, pvp.
So much for that.
I’ve pretty much given up on mine. They’re still ok in raid but even their ST can be underwhelming if there’s a lot of mechanics that get in the way.
M+…
Leveled a rogue and went outlaw. The single target isn’t as good but it outperformed my 412 cat in 370 gear. I guess cats are still good for weeks that force more single target work or require a lot of off healing and brez’ing.
If you are outperforming your 412 Feral Druid as a 370 Rogue then that’s a L2P issue, not a spec issue. Feral can do just as good of damage as a comparable rogue. In fact, Ferals can out dps Rogues in some aspects in M+ on AoE if the Feral is good enough. You do have to sacrifice some ST dps to do it though.
If you’re raiding as a Feral, you’re a boss dps and that’s it. But, even in 2-3 target cleave situations, if the targets are stacked on the boss, you can do high dps while maintaining high boss dps.
Ok you win, feral is king of the hill in M+.
Would love to see M+ logs of you as a Feral and then you as a Rogue. There seems to be a bit of over exaggeration here. Choose the right talents for M+ and your Feral will be performing very well in them.
I did not say Feral is the best. It’s not. But, it’s not as bad as some are making it out to be.
He did not state that a single time. But if you are beating your feral druid 42 item levels higher, that is not the spec.
That’s you.
Outlaw can pull some pretty insane numbers if it’s a big pull situation.
Not saying the cat isn’t useful, and admittedly I focus on ST and off healing in M+ figuring almost everyone else will be bringing the big AOE to the fight and someone has to kill the boss, but in terms of doing a big flashy overall damage in M+, feral is far from ideal. There just isn’t enough boss and too much trash for that happen unless there’s something like bursting keeping you from big AoE pulls.
No one said otherwise. But if you are beating any spec aside from affliction in a dungeon that is 42 item levels higher, it’s you. Not the spec. And we don’t talk about affliction.
I still think you’re missing the point here. Feral can do the same thing on AoE pulls. Feral isn’t just a ST spec, you can choose between a ST or an AoE spec. Feral can do ‘big flashy overall damage’ if they want to just focus on AoE.
I get your point, my hyperbole was a little extreme. I don’t have numbers because my rogue wasn’t in the 370’s for very long and is in the 390’s now. (Sanchopanza-Staghelm)
My point is, let’s see how the MDI spec breakdown ends up. Yes I know you can force feral to work, but I don’t think feral is going to have a big representation and there might be a reason for that.
I hate you Scott
Why do you need to follow what the MDI does? It is not the be all, end all to comps in Mythic+. Feral doesn’t have a big representation because many people do not play it at higher levels of content and those people are not competing in MDI. There are over 425,000 Rogue parses and 34,000 Feral parses for Mythic+ at the moment. The amount of people playing Feral is significantly lower right now.
I think a lot of people forget just how niche the mdi really is. It is only speed runs of keys which (for those players) are very easy. If they were doing 24s instead of 18s I think we would see different comps.
They take that comp for very specific things like having enough saps out at once etc. If you are not doing mdi strats you don’t need an mdi comp. Pretty much all my Heights keys have a prot pally and a demo lock. Mdi meta isn’t mandatory.
