Buddy hates healing my Blood DK. Should I Reroll? Details inside

Alright, here is the score. Been out of the pve game for a long time, but trying to come back swinging as both a tank and dps, as needed. I was a Forever Healer for ages, but my buddy wants to main a Holy Priest. He’s newish to WoW in general and definitely new to healing. He’s having a very hard time healing my Blood DK (I hit 80 over the weekend. Been hitting up TW dungeons). I am by no means a pro, but I am an experienced player, keybind every ability, etc. However, he’s really struggling with my health bar going back and forth.

Is it me? Am I just bad at Blood DK? Is DK in a rough spot right now (I haven’t kept up with the meta in ages)? Would it be better if I just rerolled to a different class? I thought with DK having such intense self heals, it would allow me to be mostly self sufficient, making things easier on him. Should I have gone with something like DH instead?

Also, my wife is a warlock main and I thought it would be cute to be a spooky couple.

BDK health goes high to low real fast, then back to high again. However, BDK controls most of their own healing.

Your buddy will need to learn a blood DK never needs their healing if it is being played correctly and to just ignore their health bar.

Takes some getting used too but once you learn not to stress about the massive swings it is one of the best tanks to have in your group

DK’s are one of the Strongest tanks right now. Druid, warrior and DK are all tops.

With DK you need to make sure you doing Death Strike and make sure you keeping your marrowrend stacks up.

When I play my DK tank I am always in my head going 1,2,3,4,5 Death strike, 12345 Death strike because the sheild and healing always based on the last 5 seconds of damage. ALso make sure you using your Tombstone and sheilds all the time.

The thing about DK’s is it requires damage incoming to stay up. That does not mean sheilds are bad it just means you need to take damage to tank. it is not like warriors where you can block or druids and dodge. You literally face tank it to tank it.

Tell him to watch your resources available more than your health. If you’re out of runic power and your health is low… you NEED healing. If your resources are full and you die… that’s on you. Or you took unhealable damage, and he wasn’t going to save you anyway.

Also as others have said… once you know what you’re doing your buddy will love you as he can effectively ignore your health bar.

He should probably let you free and allow you to fly. As a BDK you should be taking care of most of it yourself.
