no im saying sunlight is bursty because it takes 1 ranged gcd to turn on and is tied to an incredibly fast swing timer. Its holy damage which has no resist and penetrates armor.

What? shockadins have at most a 1.6 weap swing timer. Your seal of righteousness also procs the melee crits which means every 1.6s you get a 50ish percent chance to proc the exo even if youre not pressing crusader strike to up that percent even further.

you also have illumination, divine favor, and consecration which are all incredibly powerful healing talents.

The healing power is low on shockadins who only might run law of nature and (maybe ruby encrusted broach) but they have a high healing spell crit chance with all the holy talents, their runes, and all the intelligence their gear runs. If two warriors are going at it and a shockadin comes in to heal it can easily turn the tide and prevent the death of their teammate and the shockadin will still have plenty of mana for the next battle.

you can also drink in bgs and illumination should get you mana back if youre tossing off heals

Great this buff also only lasts 10 seconds so i’d have to build up the 3 Holy Power i need to refresh this buff within those 10 seconds, which again I mentioned is made difficult by the fact that MOST people know to just kite a paladin to stay out of most of their damage(if its ret).

I get what you’re saying but it’s no more damage than you’d really get from Seal of Righteousness which hits like 100-200 damage, again which is not bad, but not the same compared to a hunter who has 3 instant cast range abilities that each deal atleast 2-3k, 3000+ for multishot and that hits multiple targets… doesn’t really sound too OP when you compare it to that.

Also keep in mind it will have a seriously reduced effect from what it was doing last time, its not going to hit for 1000+ like the “sunlight” item used to cause the interaction is different than the spell.

Also it has had a 40% overall reduction and from the blue post i posted above recieves another 60% reduction since its purely magic damage. This more than makes up for the fact that it would hit through armor cause the damage is SIGNIFICANTLY reduced.

You also have to remember that shockadin give up all their attackpower/str basically what most of our melee damage comes from, A Ret paladin’s Crusader Strike/Divine Storm will always hit wayyyy harder than our Holy Shock/Exorcisms ever could, and they also do crazy melee/seal damage since Martyrdom and Command are both based on Weapon Damage and not Holy spell Power unlike Righteousness (which doesn’t do nearly as much damage as a Ret’s Martyrdom OR Command)

Beyond that, I wouldn’t care if they reduced it’s damage to players even MORE, I just want to be able to use it.

To proc Art of War NOT Proc Exorcism. Art of War doesn’t reset the cooldown it reduces the remaining cooldown by 2seconds so at the very least i’d have to get 2-3 melee crits to fully reset the Cooldown, even with a 1.2 speed weapon you’re not gonna see that reset in PvP for atleast 1.2 seconds and even then its a 50% chance every 1.2seconds so at minimum you’re fully resetting exorcism at 3.6 seconds and that’s IF you get a melee crit on EVERY melee hit and manage to land every single melee hit without the other person kiting you.

Basically it procs a lot less often than you’d think and much less often than you’d like.

Illumination doesn’t increase healing it only returns your mana to your IF your heal crits.

Divine favor arguably is a healing CD but is also used as an offensive CD also its on a 1min cooldown and the only effect is giving you a SINGLE crit on Flash of Light, Holy Light, or Holy Shock which we already discussed does not heal very much cause of the lack of actual HEALING SPELLPOWER. So, at best you’re getting a fairly average heal.

Consecration is the only one i actually agree with to consistently use for healing since its passive but again it runs into the problem of being a zone wide heal/damage that is easy for an enemy to run out of and kite you out of.

If you’re going to use ZG 3-set or 5-set you’re compromising on a lot of other stats, mainly stamina which you need to have to survive the MASSIVE damage some other classes can burst out at you. You can fill in the pieces with Marshal set and Bloodmoon to make up the differece (I have both kits so i know) but this also makes you give up all your attackspeed bonuses/expertise/ and hit so now you’re kind of forced to find a few hit replacement pieces so you don’t miss your melee strikes cause ZG+marshal+bloodmoon has almost no actual melee hit rating and if you don’t run PvP pieces/bloodmoon items you have so little health most ranged classes can 1-2 tap you.

Illumination only returns the same amount of mana you spent and only on CRITICAL heals, so you’re still losing mana overall.

Drinking in BGs is literally sitting down and doing nothing, i’d rather run a setup that I know will sustain my mana even if I don’t get the opportunity to sit down and drink, also open world is different which is where a majority of PvP actually happens these days, Theres only 1-2 AB games running the rest of the BGs are literally empty.
