Alliance only ability - nerfed, now it’s Horde’s turn to nerf. I would leave Purge as it is now only for full enha(2h or dual wield). For all tanks, ele and healers it should have a 6+ second cooldown and removing only 1 effect.
Shamanistic is also too strong, its problem is the 1 minute cooldown. Such an ability should have a 3 minute cooldown minimum
Don’t talk to me about Priests and their Purge(Dispel magic). Priests can’t tank 5 people and also remove magic from you, cant run with wolfs like train with that spam etc, and they have buttons other than fireshock and autoattack that they need to press

Honestly… I’m surprised Purge wasn’t hit with a higher mana cost. I know people will scream “but that’s how it was in Classic…!” yes, and it was annoying there but we’re in SoD.
If almost every class can get adjustments/new abilities/items that alter abilities then Purge should have just had it’s mana increased dramatically (considering Shamanistic Rage offsets it if it did get a massive mana increase anyways).

Completely agree. in Classic it was balanced because of the slower pase and classes not relying so much on buffs. In SoD it is completely broken and spamming an ability should never be a thing. it promotes bad gameplay. It should have a 5 second CD and remove 1 magic buff

I suggest using your phrase whenever you complain about paladins.
If CD is in Retail, it means they realized it was too strong? When you complained about Bubble, why didn’t you repeat those same phrases in your head?
TBC has talents for Purge resistance chance. If we don’t add them here, we need to nerf the ability .

lets see, one allows you to do full damage (with an attack speed nerf which diddnt matter cause all the damage was front loaded anyways) vs something that does 0 damage and dispels two buffs (which hurts pallies the most . wonder which class the op is?)

sure but the shamans bubble not only negates all damage (including balefire bolt) but also reflects it.
and also the pallys purge self purges them so shaman and priest dont have to anymore and they must press purge every 2 seconds.

Let me add some flavor like you do: Shaman’s bubble costs 100% of your total mana (if you have 5k it costs then 5k even if your mana pool isn’t full) and you can’t heal or attack during it.
Plus it puts a debuff on shaman “shameless” which reduces your stats by 50% for 1 minute.
this debuff is not available for shaman players, they keep asking for paladin nerf haha

Balancing isn’t some turn-based fairness system where every faction gets hit just because the other side took a loss. Purge is an iconic Shaman ability, and gutting it with an arbitrary cooldown and single-effect removal would be ridiculous. If anything, Shamans need buffs, not nerfs.
Let’s talk about Shamanistic Rage, because nerfing it would do way more harm than good. This ability isn’t just a personal survivability tool—it’s a massive benefit for the entire raid. The mana regeneration keeps Enhancement Shamans pumping damage, Elemental Shamans casting longer, and Resto Shamans healing more efficiently. If you weaken it, Shamans become overly reliant on external mana sources, chugging potions or waiting for someone else to bail them out. That’s terrible for overall group synergy.
Honestly, if we’re talking buffs, Shamans should be getting even crazier upgrades—like Bloodlust becoming raid-wide and lasting twice as long, Lightning Shield exploding like Chain Lightning, or Ghost Wolf granting permanent CC immunity. Why stop there? Let’s give Shamans an instant-cast spell that auto-crits every 10 seconds, just for fun. 
But let’s be real—this isn’t actually about nerfing Horde or Alliance abilities. This is just another thinly-veiled attempt at getting Paladins nerfed. That’s the real goal here. They’re deflecting the attention off Bubble and Cleanse, acting like Shamans are the real problem. Meanwhile, Paladins still enjoy insane survivability tools, unreasonably strong defensives, and cleansing spam that invalidates half the mechanics in the game. If anything, Paladins need real nerfs, not Shamans.
So quit crying about Purge—it’s not the problem here. If you’re struggling against Shamans, maybe the issue isn’t Purge—it’s your own class and how you’re playing.
