just wanted to say i saw you post earlier that you can do full ele dmg while not fully speced/geared as an ele as a 30resto /21 ele spec with t1 gear on your shaman.
this is false.
maybe you are doing that with such low gear levels compared to other low gear leveled people but at higher gear levels its not even close with a full specced/geared true ele vs a 30resto/21ele.
I never said you can’t do damage without ele gear, I said you lose nothing for going 21/0/30 that would cause you to do less damage. You just lose cast time on lightning bolt/chain lightning and the auto crit from the end of the ele tier. Neither of those reduces your maximum output as you still get the crit bonus talent.
We’re not talking PVE dps we’re talking PVP.
the cast time in terms of damage done to a pvp opponent is a bigger deal than the auto crit (which is why some go natures swiftness instead) but that aside, your post made it sound like you were doing so without proper gear which would be very false.
i would imagine you get maybe 60-70% effectiveness going with a very specific setup /spec/gear/rune combo and are at maybe 60-70% on the other roles too.
and thats with bis gear for the setup that not alot have even now and is very intentional to do the setup so you wouldnt accidently find it.
Naw i didnt mean to say “you haven’t played it enough” as much as, being in t1 I assumed you maybe haven’t played it in the last couple phases.

Trying to say that a resto/ele 21/0/30 is doing the same damage as a Ele/resto 30/0/21 is absolutely insane.
Resto/Ele is missing out on the following;
Call of Thunder
Elemental Focus (or you can pick it up and drop a point from something else)
Storm Reach
Lightning Mastery
Depending on how you spec… could also miss out on Convection, Elemental Warding, Eye of the Storm.

shaman players are actually brainrotten and it’s fried.
it is insane how you are defending something broken and dont realize it. but admitting that you play a broken pvp class would be insane. so far you just seem to deflect to but hunters and paladins mostly.
honestly though some of those are important its the gear choice that is the crux of the issue and runes second to that and then spec.
if you dont gear properly (which isnt t1 set) you will fail to meet the requirments to also get sp and be tanky enough along with doing proper dmg and then secondarily healing.
runes are important too as you would have to go shield mastery to gain the needed sp but that wouldnt be enough.
at the absolute peak of gear/runes/spec you might be at 60% ish in 2 of the 3 roles (dps/tank/healing) and maybe 65% on the last one.
PvP thread. If you are trying to discredit someone by exposing their parses in PvE then you are probably not fit to have a discussion about PvP
Whats broken? We have said tank runes should be disable in pvp… I mean, dont nerf them into the ground like we did Ehn. If its the tankiness and sustain damage… why not ask for the same for other classes instead of nerf’n the big ol’ shamans.

I’m not supporting the fact that Shamans deal alot of damage compared to other classes. It’s just the tankiness that is the biggest issue in the game right now together with Hunter burst imo. But trying to win a pvp argument by bringing up parses is getting old
Yeah, I agree about using parses for any pvp argument. I have never visited that site to care enough. I PvE so that I can PvP. =) lol

i will say however , shaman are historically tankier than other casters due to their lack of range amongst other factors that make that needed.
We can discuss his no rank and 29 HKs if you like. I feel that is pretty indicative of how much he actually PvPs.

You could actively avoid all PvP and still have more HKs than that at 60.
Don’t you constantly complain that shaman can’t cast in PVP so they only shock? Which is it? That hardcasting matters so the cast time reduction is good, or shaman can only shock?
No, I said that I have T1 gear on my shaman and I perform in PVP more effectively than my other characters. The feeling is night and day.
Actually mostly played it this phase and last phase. But it’s balanced against the fact I have like 7 60s and play two other MMOs.
You in fact can get Call of Thunder if you want.
This doesn’t give you more damage unless you’re pairing it with a tier set, at which point you would just take it.
These once again don’t give you more damage, just utility overall. It’s not like we’re talking PVE dps.
Not to mention it’s a phase 8 parse in MC with me in dungeon blues. And if you filter for ilvl I have 90s and a 100. So shrug
Yes because that’s my only character. I can’t PVP on other characters too. Just FYI, honor rank and HKs don’t mean anything in SoD or Classic.

Yes, I can’t have fought several people in the open world and have 29 HKs. Because that’s not possible. I can only have those HKs from a BG. Can’t be me fighting 1v1 skirmishes in open world. Not at all. Surely not. Where is your shaman btw?
