Eh, when you know people who have actually dealt with real issues, you learn to recognize when someone is making insincere jokes at their expense to either get a laugh out of people or get them riled up. It is indeed disappointing how easily people fall for it.
And then it went and spiraled into “attack helicopter” and “[mundane thing] offends me please cancel it” “jokes,” which were beaten into the ground so long ago that the people digging them up could be called archaeologists.
