Well, I’m one of those who is still looking. 20 hours deep and I’ve seen him once, but no dice. I was wondering if anyone knows how the respawn timer works? If I know when he last spawned/was tamed, is it a hard/fast rule that he will spawn 8 hours from then? Or is it a range from 6-8 hours? Or is it some ratio based on population that calculates the time out of 8? Like 10% full server would be 10/100*8 hours or 7.2 hours respawn? Anyone actually know!?
Usually, respawn timers are a range, with a few exceptions of course. I would expect you to be waiting 6-8 hours since the last kill/tame. Population has nothing to do with it.
You could also try shard hopping, as most people are doing.
This is also something to consider. You might be sitting there alone now, but as you get closer to respawn, someone might suddenly phase in from another shard an grab him.
Is there a way to tell what shard you are in or what shard they are in? Every time someone invites me, I stay in the same shard I’m in. Thank you! I’m still looking. Hate to waste this many hours of my life. Not sure if they’ll nerf at the end of classic, and if so, then this is truly a waste. lol
As far as I know, there is no way to tell other than joining groups over and over again. Keep an eye on the wildlife and mobs around you. Mobs that move are the best. If you shard, the mobs around you might not be in the same place, especially if they are kinds that wander.

Just spent a solid five hours after a server reset eagle eye spamming and nothing zero zilch.
6-8 hour respawn afaik so u were 1 hour off before he even had a chance, i don’t think restarts make all rares spawn, it just resets the timer
My eyes were burning and I wanna workout. I’ll give it one more solid go of 5 hours tonight and see how I feel. I’m gonna hafta research layering because I was getting invited to groups to attempt to switch my layer and nothing changed.
It was kinda disheartening as there were at least 10 hunters running around. I was the only constant and the only one spamming eagle eye. I knew I would lose the tame to some kid who just waltzed in. I don’t wanna turn into the hulk and smash stuff.
Yea if i can be honest, i’ve never camped a rare spawn more than an hour before, but i have time lost proto drake, the camel, and aeonaxx on live, and i got brokentooth a week ago. it’s about persistence more than actually staying there for hours on end in my experience. No need to make yourself sick camping it for 6+ hours

Day 2 began at 4:29 am.
I went till 8 am with zero sightings.
I’m beginning to become delirious and paranoid.
Will one of these “I’m just running through here to look” hunters stumble upon him and tame him?
Will I miss the tame on one of my few bathroom breaks?
Will a war ensue with all the “friendly” horde hunters standing near me off and on during these days?
If he does pop and I see a horde taming him do I do the unspeakable and gank? Do I get ganked?
Am I unable to time the spawn due to layering? If I see him pop and miss the tame will I be on the same 8-9 hour window for the next tame or will I be in a new layer?
I’m starting to lose it…

Every time I see a cat on a hill my heart stops but it’s always a ridge stalker.
I’ll be waking up a few times tonight just to check and lose my sanity.

It took me 4 days to get broken tooth, I would be level 54 if I didn’t hunt for him. It’s a good thing overall.
Woke up at 230am and 530am and nothing. Work 24hrs today so I’m gonna try most of tomorrow. Maybe I’ll take a day off Tuesday and log in spam on server resets.
Not moving or leveling till I get this cat.

he spawns in different spots some one could have killed him or got him in the other spots.
I stood on a high rock near the base of the large mountain near the entrance to Badlands from Lock Mod,
I was able to tame him at 0000 hours on 09/22/2019 on Atiesh near the Uldum entrance near the base of the wall.
I rushed to get him due to the fact that a warrior was killing mobs and was heading right at BT and was stopped by 2 stealthed cats.
I thanked him for not killing and tipped him 2.5gold.

I’m spamming eagle eye in a rotation. I won’t miss a kill or a tame.
