me and several other people took the portal from tanaris at the 20th anniversary celebration to SW and it ended up taking us out in the middle of the ocean near swamp of sorrows.

Yeah I used my garrison hearthstone and it dumped me in the middle of Draenor somewhere. Things are wack.
It probably thought you were horde

Yep just happened to me as well, glad I checked the map and saw I could fly back to the Blasted lands cause my hearth was on cooldown.
Just small indie company things guys don’t worry.

I was dumped in the ocean myself using the CoT portal, used my Mage portal and wound up in the air over Tirisfal Glades outside of Undercity.
Happened to me a few times yesterday. The 1st time I was in a timewalking queue, so I ended up stuck in the world until I restarted the game. Amazingly, I wasn’t dead, just teleported to a graveyard.
The one to Org has functioned properly so far. It’s the SW one that is a “surprise”.
Man blizzard extremely lazy with this, its been happening since after reset yesterday
Well you see, if it was a bug that gave us some benefit, they’d be on it asap.
This works against us so it’ll be a few weeks till they get around to it.
I’d bet someone who works on bugs has three baskets on their desk.
One that has “high priority” and that is where bugs are put that we benefit from.
Middle one has bugs that are game breaking. (this is where they spend most of their time until something falls into the “high priority” bin)
Last one has bugs in it that cause us grief but it benefits Blizz somehow and some of those have been in that bin for years.

I mean, just look at everything else that’s busted in game, that’s been sitting there for months.
The 8 week patch cadence doenst allow for bug fixes

There are numerous reports about this on the Bug forum.
They cant seem to change something in the game without stuffing up something else.

Oh I’m reminded everytime it hit Kill Shot and it does nothing but waste a cooldown. It’s not everytime so Blizz isn’t concerned about it so it goes in the whatever bin.
Same with the Rogue steath bug, that thing has been going on for over a decade.
Same here, as a mage, I felt kind of embarrassed—felt like Blizzard pulled a Theramore portal prank on me.
Was happening to me as well, but honestly, it’s bugs like these that I like. They’re hilarious and stuff like this used to happen all the time in Vanilla-Wrath. The memories 
Need to log out and back in for the code to update. Happened to me yesterday 
Myself and a number of other people have reported this issue since yesterday. It’s still an issue, and I don’t understand how portals are broken when all you supposedly touched were the tokens.
