Broken logic

its even more scary you log on an alt to just argue…

Since we are sitting here banging the equality drums in 2019; allow me to add something equally ridiculous.

Why can men in this game run around shirtless, complete with nipples, and the women can’t?

Double standards are killing me.

It’s not to de-objectify. It’s to preempt the potential for unwanted harassment.

Edit: Either way at the end of the day both situations are incomparable as with the whistle the arbiter of that experience is every single stranger on the internet, while with the transmog the controller of that experience is the player themself.

And you think toons wearing even less will help with that too?

I have female toons. I think it would be incredibly funny if someone started hitting on me :joy:

if someone is nude they are not being objectified…however what you just said is objectification of women if a woman is naked in public according to your logic she must be an object…

That’s an odd response and in no way related to the topic at hand.

Sounds like a deflection because you can’t think of anything else.

The negative connotation yes, usually. But my point is that we shouldn’t get too dirty into this rabbit hole because the bare chested barbarian of any sex is rooted in orientalzied fetishization of non-industrialized cultures and is such an objectification.

To highlight the logic surrounding sexualization in the game is to endure an unhealthy dissection of every aspect of the game that undermines the fantasy it is. As such, it was inappropriate to bring up the whistle change as although the change was a result of activist agitation, the company pursued a path of least resistance by making the change and need not be labeled with having a “broken logic.” The OP, by bringing up this case and analogizing a potentially more severe instance of sexualization, threatens a similar crack down.

I’m sure that level 19 character he’s on is his main too.

Most everyone else has already pretty clearly covered why your comparison is flawed.

LOL, it’s OK little buddy, the boobs won’t hurt you. It’s just gonna be a little more pixel skin in your game.
What are you really mad about? This /whistle change was done in December 2018.

So it is ok to admire the work someone put into assembling a mog, get in shape, etc etc. but not express my admiration?
Or is there a perapproved list of “appropriate” ways of expressing myself that I was not consulted on?

Whistling at pixels… the fact that you have trouble understanding this is troubling…

There is ALWAYS appropriate and inappropriate ways of expressing yourself. In literally every single situation ever. What kind of question even IS this?

Fair enough, the other side’s argument is, my transmog isn’t hurting anyone. But a whistle ingame, ooooo no

So if we are just louder than the “activists” we will get more options on how to express ourselves in game?

You invented the fact that it was changed because it upset people, then got outraged at your own invention.

That probably like, happens once in a blue moon, if ever

What exactly are you talking about?

The OP said the whistle change was to stop unwanted attention, but the transmog change invites unwanted attention.

But the whistle was against the players will, Transmog is their choice, their own ability to do so, and knowing full well of the consequences.

Sounds more like he wants to censor and dictate what people wear from his own opinion on it.
