BrM Demolished in 8.3

Brewmaster

  • Stamina bonus reduced to 30% (was 35%).
  • Stagger percentage reduced to 90% of Agility (was 105%).
  • High Tolerance now increases the effectiveness of Stagger by 5% (was 8%).
    • Developers’ notes: Brewmaster’s extremely high effective health against Physical damage meant that they are rarely in danger against spike damage that threatens other tanks. This should still be a strength of Brewmaster, but not by such a wide margin.
  • Fixed a bug causing Gift of the Ox orbs to spawn too often for players with high amounts of Stamina.

Fun while it lasted

that 5% stam nerf is really gonna gut the spec

It is pretty much a dead spec for tanking if this goes live. No longer will it be viable in M+ or high end content.

Wonder what tank will be the one to focus on now? Maybe pally still?

RIP BrM, It was fun to have a viable tank for a bit but Blizz doesnt know how to balance anything so I guess I’ll be back on this Prot Warrior

are these changes really gonna go live tho?

Man these are paper nerfs. Yall arent taking into account the power curve that comes with a new tier currently, and access to another minor essence slot. On top of currently as it stands I dont even need a healer most pulls

Only dh’s and druids need healers this xpac.

Tank healing is not a thing anymore, so this nerf really really hurts because no one needs to do any healing on tanks, except BrM is now added to the list of don’t bring because a healer has to stop dpsing now to heal a tank.

Other tanks will be taken so healers can focus on dpsing.

What are overreactions for $500 Alex.

you are the definition of over reacting

Oh no… Whatever will I do taking at most 5% more damage. Ooohhh noooo.

Oh wait… It won’t mean a damn thing.

I already outheal my healers with my trinkets and traits. This nerf would have gone live and I probably wouldn’t have even noticed.

Though I may now change to blackout combo.

As a WW main, my perspective may be a bit skewed. However, these don’t seem that bad a change. It just seems like Blizzard wants to weaken BrM’s really good defensive system to make other tanks look more viable, and as a WW it’s a familiar feeling.

That is not to say that the changes don’t suck though because they do.

Not just that, but if you think survivability is an issue, change your essences and run double tank trinket. We also don’t know how that cloak is gonna effect us either

That too. I think they aren’t taking into account just how much agi we will be having, if the change from 8.0 to 8.1 to 8.2 is an indicator. I will sometimes not even have my stagger even hit yellow on some pulls currently. People just love to cry the sky is falling.

I’m guessing it will land at about a 10% reduction in stagger in the short term which would be about a 15% increase in damage taken.

It’s disappointing HT got nerfed but the competing talents were not buffed.

Buff or nerf it won’t bother me either way. I am used to a dubstep health bar. I rerolled from Blood to BrM

The Monk discord did the maths, the bug fix is a 50% reduction in healing, the health bonus decrease is a decrease in health pool by 14%, and the stagger changes result in 22% upfront damage taken.

That’s a great way to put it. When I heal pugs I only have one hard+fast rule: “NO DK TANKS!”. They are great tanks, and are totally capable of doing any level of content I care about, but the yo-yoing of their health bar is just too stressful from a healer’s perspective.

Just gotta remember that Blood is a self sustaining healer too!

Too bad blizzard is not able to do the maths, because this is a huge nerf, simply huge, not the 5% they told us.

Do us a favor and quit overreacting.
