with many fights making you run around to pubbles on the ground or to adds and lots of things really… the short range we have is like having an extra affix in a dungeon… breath weapon type attacks i kinda get. these kind of spells aside… whats the pioint ?

I don’t know, I feel Aug is taking the “easy” road. Just saying that because DPS is easier to do then Healer…
They Might not be Rank1, but they are still pushing high Keys.
Pres evokers are doing just fine in much higher keys than you’re doing.
It’s not turbo meta, but it’s fine.
Pres is fine in my opinion, but you will get punished for not maintaining constant positioning throughout a fight. If you see the tank or group getting farther and farther away, or you know a bunch of aoes that are about to come out have the potential to cut you off from the group, it’s time to move and reposition.
If the DPS wants to stay out in narnia, knowing they have a Pres. Evoker healer, then that’s on them and if you feel like saving them in that moment. Especially if they’re the only one out in the middle of nowhere. Or just rescue them and bring them along/use them for movement.
That being said, I feel like Chronowarden is a bit more forgiving in the positioning department since if there are puddles, your hover just turns into a mage blink essentially, allowing you to bypass any damage you might have taken by trying to cross them. You just teleport to the other side of any fire or poison puddles to get back to your group.
This isn’t to say you won’t have a harder time on certain fights compared to another healer…but every healer has pros and cons essentially.
Just keep an eye on positioning, set things up early, and believe in yourself. You got this!

I don’t want my evoker to feel like a reskinned priest and I like it the way it is
Not sure how it is in end game pve but in PvP the range doesn’t hinder the spec as it’s compensated by top level maneuverability plus cc immunity and ability to cast while moving
If you want to heal from 50yds while standing in one place go priest or other healer
Evoked is mid range with mobility
