Bring WoW to Steam

Besides steamcharts trends making blizz worried, the cut isnt alot and it brings an entire new audience to WoW, Outside of what alot of players on WoW think. This game isn’t so known to the point that its reached the eyes and mind of everyone, especially those born after 2008(wotlk) not saying steam will triple the player count or anything but its a good idea for helping WoW obtain some consistent growth, theres whispers about WoW coming to console. accidently leaked photos in emails being sent to players(which they kinda said oopsie that wasnt supposed to be there). I could’nt see how this would be a negative for blizzard. FF14 did it, Eso did it, Gw2 did it, and they all got more players/revenue out of it. Even albion did it and their playerbase boomed hard(granted they were a newer mmo and chose a really great time to do it) a 5-15% player increase is just free money and engagement. The game would be front page sometimes or on steamsales(if they agree to a sale) so millions of people all over the world would see it. We have seen em do it to overwatch, diablo 4, and cod. Why not WoW

Another reality most mmorpg players dont realize is most people dont even know what an mmorpg is. ive known of WoW since i was 5(2005 at that time) ive never known what its about or what an mmorpg is(until 2016 when i first got into mmos). so steam having a massive younger audience means more eyes to the genre too, you dont want other games to do it before you.

Steam would just allow Review Bombs just like with Overwatch. Nothing but -1 hour playertime going “game sucks gw2 is better”

with that logic youtube is a negative for blizzard, even tho youtube is entirely the reason most these games have an audience, same as forums and etc

also overwatch is mostly negative because overwatch 2 was just a reskin, not because of fake review bombs, look at diablo 4, its mostly positive. it had its own controversy but players overall enjoyed it

For the Blizzard channel, yes. But rarely do todays gamers visit the main channel when they want to see what a game truly is like, they watch creators and twitch live streamers.

In the same token, todays gamers eyes always fall on the Review/Rating section of Steam.

i promise you most ppl dont goto reviews. alot of the time its youtube videos and controversy thatll stop a player from playing a game, assassin creed shadows completely flopped even before a review was made, players knew the game they were getting before it even released

lmao OK bud.

I came here to be angry and have zero empathy. Here’s my hyperbole statement regarding why OP is wrong.

wait it actually did, then even ubisoft was met with almost instant layoffs and studio shutdowns directly after and are in the works with tencent to revive the franchise. this isnt even like a conspiracy lol

and lol mustachio

And Far Cry, and Rainbow Six, so yea literally a conspiracy. I am not going to get into it…I can already foresee where this is going like a palantir thrown in my face.

Yea but then blizz would have to give steam a cut of the money

So that won’t happen

No its not, theres a bubble outside of blizzard that you must not know about.

None of these were the byproduct of AC Shadows “failing,” if you can even assume it did.

They were likely in the works for some time.

they do it with 3 other games, cod being one of em and thats arguably one of the bigger money makers

Cod was already on steam, so they already were paying

Now they’d need to give steam a piece of every sub and store sale

doesnt matter if it was already on steam, they could freeze sales with your logic

also they only take a cut of the players with steam accounts connected like they do with SE.

Do you actually know anything about the steam agreements for listing games or are you just gunna be grumpy?

its not being grumpy lol you are being a contrarian for no reason outside of “hur dur blizz says steam cuts bad” even though blizzard never mentioned that

infact theyve shown the opposite and have multiple games already on the platform

Uhuh, they never mentioned wow on steam at all so why would they mention steam cuts for it?

i could have sworn they were on steam before, were they?
