You do understand that when people do make BiS lists they are taking the optimal set of stats into consideration? BiS lists are a dime a dozen, as you can imagine.
I guess the rest of this is just a matter of opinion. Templates sucked. that is an opinion as well, but echoed a lot during legion.
if templates didn’t disable 90% of my toys and fun harmless items I used to always use in bgs like the guitar or the cata staff mount or some random toys I can use today but couldn’t in legion. maybe I might have liked them more.
As someone who twinks, I’d love to not have to deal with poorly geared levellers who are not even in the last two or three levels of the bracket.
You aren’t fun to play with, and you aren’t fun to slaughter.
And gear does matter, which is why in say the 19 bracket some people will have twice the health of others. It’s not enchants. I’ve never used stam enchants, unless you count the stats ones (they’re like 130g on ah).
No, that’s silly. A group of solo pugs should never be put up against premades. But it’s perfectly reasonable and doable to seed pugs into premades that are balanced on each side.
This is not true. Luck has nothing to do with it. When there’s a 4 or 5 man group continuously queuing (or worse, 2 or more of them), you can run into the same twink premade several bgs in a row. It’s happened to my alts. A lot.
Ok, when someone has a different experience than you, it is bad luck. But your experience is supposed to be taken for the norm?
I also had this “bad luck” the other night where my team absolutely crushed the other team like they were all made of paper. This was at least half of the games out of ten or so, and then a couple where we got stomped and GY camped. All of those games were crap imo.
There was one super fun close game that night: the game with no twinks.
I think it’s done on purpose. Kind of like the people who posted screenshots of GY camping with twinks and they’re replied to with selective screenshots of the end of the match, taken from inside the flag room saying “nope, no GY camping here!”
People will go to great lengths to pretend like there isn’t a problem or it’s something else rather than calling a spade a spade.
You play a game where the “community lauds gear as the cornerstone of RPGs” and you expected it to be different in the leveling community? Why? This entire game revolves around gear: From top end raid content to transmog looks, this entire game bottomlines at gear. Why would you expect people in battlegrounds to continue to have anything less then that as their highest priority?
There it is, this is universal within our game.
That % of extra gear will not make up for players % of misplaced skill.
With all of this documented, dated, Reflex etc. data that has been consistently provided for us (Thank you Juga). We can really observe the differences between gearing and wins. “Twinks” are at times not doing as well as one would assume they should be doing. Aggressive “Levelers” are steadily on those same charts, which clearly have assisted in wins.
Reminds me of another thread where the player was moaning about buying BOE’s from the AH and gearing up but it did not guarantee victory.
Wow is organic, and it has been since the genesis.
So many variables.
