Bring the Winter Squid back - No agility food for phase 3

Winter Squid is only farmable from Sep - March 20th. Agility classes will need this food in the next raid, but because of the seasonal nature, we cannot farm it anymore. This means agility food will be insanely expensive, while Strength and Intellect food will not.

Can we please make it possible to fish Winter Squid again for phase 3+ raiding?

It was available phase 1 with big iron and maxed fishing. Sorry you missed the boat. I will have agi consumes for phases to come.

That’s so funny.

This’ll effect Phase 3 and 4 raiding. I bet Blizzard will probably do something, but if they don’t then the smarter players who farmed up thousands of Winter Squid are about to make so much bank.

Almost wish I’d been less lazy.

I looked on the auction house the other day and this person had 113 stacks of it for sale.

His bot was putting in work

People have been farming them since day one, you’ll be fine.

Wait wait wait
Let’s check this word here for a second

No you don’t silly.

I didn’t miss the boat, I have plenty, but I’m not a selfish person. Other people should have a chance to get food for raiding and other stuff, especially when STR and INT food is available. It’s a season of discovery, but clearly they didn’t think it through.

They didn’t think through Gold Deposits clogging up server layers in Phase 1 or Truesilver Ore not being smeltable in Phase 2 either. And yet, they never fixed either of those oversights.

I just wouldn’t hold your breath on them fixing their oversight here either. Get ready to make potentially thousands of gold off of whatever Winter Squid you’ve farmed up ahead of time.

Probably so. But gold is pointless for the most part anyways after you get enough for your raid consumes. I’d rather make the game better for everyone than worry about my $$

Woho! Look at me not caring! Pretty sure these bosses still gonna die.

Between all the fishing bots hording thousands of them and every ‘how to make gold in Phase 2’ video recommending winter squid farming I’d be surprised if the price does anything crazy.

Unlocked the secret of the game. Good job.

While i do think they should add alternative options, i do not see winter squid as a “need”

There are strength food options for melee.

And ranged hunter is garbage anyway that wants spellpower over agility at this point because of how horrible of a job blizzard has done with ranged hunter.

That doesn’t mean that next phases range hunter will be bad.

LOL you said ranged hunter, your post doesn’t count

Back in original classic + I farm an entire bank of winter squid.

No one wanted it. Took me weeks to sell and at a fraction of what the prices started at even during july-aug.

Better foods to farm and better money to make.

you see i knew this beforehand and stockpiled a small amount

i’ll be charging exorbitant fees come phase 4. How’s 7g a squid sound?

You shoulda farmed man

I never said it would be bad, I just said it would be nice to have reasonable options considering STR and INT food will be available and easy to farm

Just because blizzard is trying to force hunters into melee doesnt mean the class is in a good spot or that ranged hunter should be ignored.

Melee will have access to the sand worm food for strength

Which will be more valuable than agility to a melee hunter.

Based on blizzards track record from true vanilla to now, it will only be getting worse. As they will throw ranged and melee bad runes next 2 phases and not fix the fundamental flaw of the class. Scaling issues.

To give you an idea, one of the data mined runes for hunters next phase is tnt, 10% increased damage to explosive shot and fire traps. Not “gives rap scaling” just a flat damage boost. And with explosive shot being 90% base damage and having about a 0.1 rap scaling (divided by 3) its scaling is so low even a 100% increase to its total damage would be bad scaling. As well as the fact it shares a rune with chimera shot which would still scale better with agi or spellpower gear.
