Bring Layering back

In an ideal world we can all play wow classic with no layering.

In a semi ideal world we can all at least PLAY WOW CLASSIC.

Now I just sit 1h of my 2-3hour queue and go do something else while a huge portion of my server (Whitemane) is just people AFK logging or straight up robots (PLEASE BAN BOTS)

Please bring Layering back so we can play the game we PAY to PLAY. The community rejoiced when Blizz brought layering back as 500 minute wait was a little excessive, but taking it away before you fix the queues is like Apple releasing their new Iphone knowing it sometimes blue screens for a full day or 2 :frowning: .

I’ve been on Whitemane since name reservations and the server didn’t have queue problems for months. If the server clogs and you remove layering, then force transfer notification the parasites who aren’t originally from Whitemane and clog our server.

this 100%

I am the GM of a very large raiding guild and though not everyone Loves layering not a single player I’ve spoken too would prefer to deal with queues in favor of no layers.

Additionally it was a huge gotcha moment to have layers removed without warning in the middle of the raiding day.

The many many arguments for why layers are needed have been made repeatedly but the one that bears repeating is that we are paying to Play the game not stare at a log in screen.

Many of us on Whitemane have been here since before launch and transferring is simply not a realistic option for an organized and successful raiding guild.

I’m not quite sure who’s involved in the administration of Classic wow, but it seems like there’s no real conversations being had with the true community, only unusually loud cry babies and streamers who care more about views and attention than what is actually best for the game and the community.

No one wants queues even if they hate layers.

I don’t have complete knowledge of the server tech, but how bout layers that are dynamic and only kick in to prevent actual queues–so theres primarily one layer, but players who join who would be otherwise get stuck in a queue get placed in the new layer.

Additionally some suggestions would be to make world buffs cross layer, or even better just remove them/make them ineffective in raids and/or have logs record world buff status to help remove the pressure from world buffs as well as give non speed runners logs that are effective and measuring performance outside of the world buff meta.

A final necessary change is to adjust resource spawns on whitemane and similar servers to account for the entirely unvanilla like population of raiding guilds. Blotus should be 40ish g not 3-400ish g.

Again, #Queuesareworsethanlayers

His a well explained reason for bringing back layering, but there are thousands more in this forum.

Its so sad that we are still f-ing debating on this topic…

Why did you even disable layers in the first place???

Yep, another 3k+ people in queue and missed my raid.

Cool bean.

I agree! I really hope they bring layers back, I want to keep my community alive. Not just a season of bots.

I think the main thing that people are missing as well, Whitemane at the start was a balanced server with no Ques, it wasn’t until they opened up transfers that it got bad.

Poorly balanced servers transferred here causing a influx and then a Que. Because of the slow response time to the balance of other servers Blizzard has put us in this position, and they should fix this and not have paying customers suffer.
