Like the description says. I want Demon’s Bite back.
Its not coming back because it was an unfun button to press and drastically less optimal.
Unfun?
Yea why would anyone want to have a spammable resource builder in a builder/spender class? And between all the other ways we build resources, you’re not overly reliant on it.
Instead we get cooldown management and auto attacks. I was LOVING leveling my demon hunter, then this xpac came out and I dropped it like a stone.
Bring it back as an option again. Won’t hurt anybody.
Or you could play Devourer and enjoy spamming a resource generator and let Havoc be Havoc.
Go play dev then if you want a spammable resource builder
Demon’s Bite is and has been a bad designed ability.
Demon’s Bite wasn’t exactly interesting, but it’s always nice to mention that, if we are to spam Chaos Strikes non-stop, why not replace a couple with Demon’s Bite?
I’d rather have Mana Burn as a resource builder. Kinda like a Judgement. Deals arcane dmg, provides fury over time, could be talented to bounce a couple times.
Either way, someone has to clean up the mess that is Havoc nowadays. So convoluted.
Because you are wasting a global on something that doesn’t do much damage with something that does and has a chance to refund fury. So logically makes more sense to use CS over DB.
I love the complete polar opposite here,.
Could literally just do this for people who want it.
And it’s very easy for blizzard to force demon’s bite into your playstyle by simply lowering the excessive amount of fury you generate by other means.
I think a lot of DH players who have think the concept of “things hit harder so we don’t need a resource builder” would really despise pressing wrath on a boomy, or mind flay on an spri, etc..
Refunding fury never felt good. It’s awful to react to an instant skill that can refund. It cuts the rotation flow. I really hate that.
As for the damage, that’s relative. DB can be made to deal more damage in order to be attractive, but not enough to replace Chaos Strike. The idea is simple, cast DB to deal decent damage, spend the fury you get on CS, which is better. So, let’s say, instead of using 4 CS’s, we cast 2 CS’s for every 2 DB’s.
I’ve played DH when demon’s bite was a thing and when the felblade/demon’s blade combo because the standard the play style was so much smoother.
Truly do not grasp why people are trying to hold onto an ability that is a net loss. Rather spend a global on BD or CS and not have to worry about pressing DB.
What polar opposite are you referring to?
I’m ok with a builder if that meant attacks feeling more natural. And by “natural” I mean making all of them aoe so they don’t need a main target, like Blade Dance. Makes good synergy with our mobility style, and makes sense considering our class fantasy. In case we don’t get full aoe, then a Mana Burn would preferable.
That’s about it. I don’t think DB is anything special. Same for Chaos Strike. Neither are in my list of “fun abilities”.
I suppose players feel DB provides consistency/control in a spec that turned out to be a mess. Everything feels weird and out of place in Havoc.
Devourer has the spammable resource generator now? What ability is it?
Consume (Devour when in Void Meta)
It’s castable while moving too, which is nice.
