Instead of Horrific Visions, they should have gone with Torghast. Torghast was fun from the start of SL to the end, literally the only good thing from the expansion.
Visions on the other hand… are just awful. Timed content is dog crap. That’s why I don’t like M+. Anything timed is instantly not fun. Visions didn’t even really have any fun mechanics to them either, like Torghast had with powers.
Torghast fun haha
They went with Visions because it ties into the current overarching story about the fight against the Void. We have no reason to go back to Torghast, or any part of the Shadowlands, because we already accomplished everything we need to do there and it’s not involved in the plot of the current expansion or either of the two after it.
They’re not even really the same type of content. Visions were a minor diversion that existed for a single patch, so bringing them back is no different from bringing the Mage Tower challenges back. Torghast was a pillar of endgame content that permeated the entire expansion it was introduced in, so it’s not nearly as easy to reincorporate.
I think torghast was a good idea…but not well executed. Rather then having engaging mobs with interesting abilities we got extremely big damage sponges.
I think torghast fails as challenging content where visions succeed. I think you could make torghast interesting though.
Torghast was never meant to be “challenging content” in the first place… it was meant to be a fun endgame activity that progressively increasses in difficulty the further you get… do note “more difficult” does not necessarily mean “challenging”.
I agree… like I said issue was just how brutal scaling got. Was like cutting down a tree with your fists.
