The fun thing I love is that OP points out that it’s 2024, so therefore systems should support a game mechanic based on where the game was story wise in 2004… while ignoring the story progression that occurred in the last… check notes … 20 years…

Well needless to say, idk what server your on but i did have an encounter with someone with your name. Idk if was you or not, not saying it was you but what happened shouldn’t have happened at all no matter if was horde or alliance. People need to treat others with respect while playing for either side your on. I think when they combined both factions the game completely changed, imho, not for the better. It did take the war out of Warcraft. Again, my apologies im not trying to single you out or anything but just as an example how this game has changed so much not for the better though.
Two questions.
One: are you on retail trying to pvp? If so thats the problem.
Two: have you tried classic? Because on anniversary server (pvp server) there is no lack of pvp. Its everywhere you go. Just how its suppose to be. Retail isnt wow anymore its the devs trying to bring back a game that has no point of return. Retail is dead and gone
Never say never when it comes to WoW. Blizzard can always bring back Factions Wars if enough players want it.
Just add a new faction to fight against. Don’t make it playable, fill it with in-game races, but make it a new evil empire or something.
oh hey, remember the Dark Horde? Bring them back, and then add a Dark Alliance.
