come on bliz. I want to make the cool bars. The last expansions have been kinda meh with that.
You really want to sit there smelting bars then crafting stuff again? I was so glad when they got rid of that middle step and just let us craft stuff. Same with not having to make cloth bolts before making gear.
please, don’t
Make Thermal Anvil Great Again
personally, yes…as long as its not a huge amount of time. Bars were cool.

ive got a whole guild bank page full of those, lol.
But I do use them for engineering too, so they get some use.
I mean, enchanters still have to disenchant, inscriptors still have to make dyes…
There’s a ton of stuff people can do with bars of metal. Like a metal bar fort.
I want my fort, blizz.
Thee whom smelt it, shall forever more, be thee whom dealt it.
Nah, I like it the way it is, so no thanks.
If elected, i will bring back smelting jobs to ironforge…
It was cool because it made you choose between smelting things into bars or leaving them as ore for jewel crafting. It is also more immersion it feels like you’re actually making something.
What the heck is going on in your profile picture.
I vote for smelting! The bars are pretty
What? The 2-handed gnome profile avatar bug that blizzard has refused to fixed since forever? I won’t change this staff out because it looks ridiculous and will keep it until blizz fixes this stupid bug

Apparently immersion in a role playing game is antiquated for some LOL
It was also a nice way to boost your mining so that you could get the next tier of mats. Of course, that’s completely irrelevant now because mining does eff-all for you these days. I used to look forward to hitting that next mining tier so I could start farming higher end mats. Now there are no higher end mats. It’s all just mats.
Crafting in general is also broken. It used to be that we crafters made lots of low quality goods with lots of low quality mats so that we could later make a few high quality goods with lots of high quality mats. This has been turned on its head. Now you make lots of low quality goods with lots of mats so that you can later make the same low quality goods with fewer of those same mats. What’s the point? There’s nothing to look forward to anymore, except for a handful of achievement points.
I understand that there’s supposedly epic gear out there to be made, but I haven’t seen any of it. It’s completely out of reach for LFR heroes, so it may as well not even be there.
This character is a Jewelcrafter, and given the scarcity of gem slots, it’s a pretty useless profession. We’ve come a long way from Cataclysm, where you had several gem slots on each piece of gear, with bonuses for specific gem combos. I guess that was just too much fun for players to handle.
it would be. by definition. it would be a massive useless time sink.
I actually agree with bringing back smelting. But I think that it shouldn’t be limited to mining only. Blacksmiths, emgineers and anyone else who is a primary ore user should have a smelting capability.
Why would I want to go afk while smelting again?
all this and more is why I just gave up on all the professions and just take engineering. Its the ‘me’ profession. Lots of crap for MY use like the wormholes to make my game easier. I do make quite a bit of gold off it, but why even bother with LW or anything else if its just there for mogs and the last few expansions suck for that even.
The mats costs for BFA gear were stupid given the RNG on that stinking gear mulcher joke. I spent about 100k just trying to get enough mats from it to build up a few points in BFA Eng.
It seems like SLs might be better for this, but they way they keep nerfing crap before release so far, I’ll believe that its not annoying when I see it live.
of course, that means nothing either given how they butchered blood stained bone drops AFTER BFA went live and made it nearly pointless to farm.
like the other 80,000 pointless time sinks?
