Does anyone else remember when priests had a unique ability depending on what race you were?

They’d either have to give undead a new one, or take DP away from the other priests.

I remember devouring plague on my forsaken priest.
It was not exactly that great when compared to fear ward, but helped a bit on occasions when levelling and adding a bit of DPS to dungeons.

Yes.
I sure don’t. You felt like a fool for not rolling the “correct” Priest race. The differences between races were often extreme.

Just play Classic. 
Night elves had the star ability.
While it adds flavour, I think retail is too far gone to wont add racial stuff to specific classes. Too many races/classes to make stuff for

Balancing them would be very difficult and I also remember a time when people got mad if you were the wrong race. Dwarven priests and fear ward were considered top tier and everyone else was “Oh, you’re not a dwarf? Ok. I guess.”

The shadow damage has a chance to stun talent would proc off that. Was halarious being opened up on by a rogue and watch them get stunned and you both just sit there stareing at each other.
Woa, this looks pretty cool. Why did they remove these?
So that if you wanted to do certain activities, like raid or pvp, you had more choice in what race your character could be (or rather, what others would accept you as)

Alliance and Horde pallies each had a different faction specific seal in Burning Crusade too.

Yes, but now many of them are for all Priests not just a few.
Good riddance.
The fact Night elf priests had Elune themed spells and Trolls had Voodoo/Hex themed spells….and it was removed 
.
Some themed concepts for our classes and races is all I’ve wanted.

Add more glyphs that add themes to spells. Elune themed priest spells and voodoo/hex themed spells through glyphs.

This will never happen. Blizz pretty much gave up on the cosmetic glyph system. Sadly
I just really want cascade back.
There are now 23 races that can be priest. Yeah, there is no way this will happen.
