It was also true that we often saw complaint threads by posters who were well known to be total flamebait trolls who never posted anything for actual discussion, whining that if their posts were “buried” no one could see them. Which is the opposite of the truth. People went right to buried threads to see if they agreed they needed to be buried. They got more readers.
They didn’t have to choose a forum software that works the way the one they chose works. They did, even though some typical forum features (like ignore) were not there and took a long time to implement.

Still kills me that the argument against the dislike function is that people dislike posts that they dislike 
I agree with you here but it won’t happen. In this day and age society is way too PC and driven solely by emotions. We live in a day and age where my teenage daughter has thicker skin than many grown men. People will get their feelings hurt so it’s not happening.
I’ve only been here about 4 months, but this alt thing is what I don’t understand.
Why aren’t they tied to their Blizz account so mods know if they’re being used for nefarious reasons?
I think using dislike can be turned abusive, thus actually hurting some people emotionally.
Okay, I gotta ask. How does this report thing work? I don’t see any easy way of doing this short of a ticket and those things take a day before you get an answer.

We also need for ignore to be account wide so it also ignores all their alts, like the old forums did.
