You didn’t do it with 10.0 and you should have. Let us spec our favorite pets into whatever type we might need them to be for whatever activity in game we’re doing.
You introduced it way back in the WotLK pre-patch for precisely this reason, because everybody was just running around with the same select few pets for optimal stats.
And ever since you took away pet respeccing with the BFA pre-patch, we’ve gone right back to that again.
Id be excited to play my hunter if they did this. Please Blizz.
WotLK did not have pet respeccing.
Also we aren’t back to all running the same pets because all pets do the same damage now.
We should be able to respec pets but the personal choice of pets is greater post BFA than pre BFA because of the other changes to the pet system.

It’s silly not to run ferocity 90% of the time, that’s 2/3rd of our pets never being used. It’s not Mr. Felts fault he is cunning, he wants to bite dragons too!!
I don’t know who Mr. Felts is but you’re speaking my language. My goblin has an army of robot pets that never get used because they’re locked into cunning spec as well.
I’d also like to see pets get talent trees with a variety of the current (and past) abilities
mortal strike, slows, heart of the phoenix, rabid, masters call, and so on, let us choose these abilities in a tree, and let BM have extra talent points
that way pets can be used for their looks rather than just because it has mortal strike or heroism
Yes it did that’s when it was first introduced.
Also people are running the same pets because if it’s not ferocity spec, then it’s trash. You can get away with tenacity for raiding/mythics and poor cunning is just neglected and unwanted.
Yes 100% support this, would be amazing.
Also get rid of exotic pets being locked to BM’s.
Please! This is the main reason why BM is not fun to play for me. I want my mecha pets!
You 100% can’t respec pets in WotLK. That was added in MoP (or Cata, not sure; it was definitely in by MoP).
You can get away with running Cunning in mythic as well. Here’s me running a cunning pet (Silithid) on mythic Ra’den back in BFA:
I need my pet respeccing back. This is absolute nonsense. They add all these cool pets that are just sub-par in effectiveness because they aren’t ferocity. I cannot for the life of me understand their reasoning for removing that.
While we are at it, I hate the zookeeper fantasy, please bring me back to one super companion who I can respec.
I think pet respec/talents is the next logical step after player talents, furthering the aim to give players choices.
I love certain pets and will always run with them. I’m lucky one is Ferocity and I can make him work in most encounters… but I also love seeing other hunters with a wide variety of pets serving whatever need they have.
Finding, taming, collecting pets make them basically like transmog… so let us have a turtle that is Ferocity or a cat that is Tenacity or whatever we’d like.
