Bring back Personal Loot for LFR

It’s LFR, personal loot always worked better. Having it be group loot serves no purpose other than being more annoying.

Look group loot is better because not only do you still not get anything but now blizzard gets to show you what you arent getting.

There is no difference between this loot system and personal loot. Only difference was personal loot is done behind the scenes. Group loot you see the roles. There ya go

there is with group its the need/greed thing that a extra step with seeing the item and voting only to go to someone else. feels mad

Wish people stop saying this

→ Now 1 person can get more then 1 piece per boss, personal loot was a max 1 item for you if you got loot, giving a more ‘sharing’ loot distrubition

→ Now loot can drop that nobody in the raid can use, didn’t happen with personal loot. No rogue? Wouldn’t see a dagger before. Now you do

BUT I think Personal Loot needs to be an OPTION for normal/heroic too, because it’s garbage everywhere, not just LFR

hard disagree.

while mathematically they might be similar.

One system just has bad luck and some bad luck protection…

The other system you can watch somebody that doesn’t need the item roll need on it and then disenchant it.

it’s like saying statistically there is no difference between someone dying in a car accident and someone getting murdered.

I mean if we are all ones and zeros then sure it is equal but we are not and it is not

just had cloth drop in a raid with 0 cloth wearers

as far as i’m concerned, bring back anything but this current system

That’s an advantage everyone shares, and there’s nothing stopping someone from giving away the second piece if they’re feeling extra sharey.

You don’t get to decide what someone else needs. Enchanting mats are a need. Tmog is a need. Vendor gold is a need.

This argument also ignores the fact that PL would roll need for that same person in the background anyway.

there’s a vast difference between an automated system and human indifference.

No they arent even similar mathematically because with group loot there can be loot that drops that no one can use. also 1 person can win duplicates of a drop(tier for example) in 1 go.

Why do you assume it’s indifference? People join LFR for mog and mats all the time, they always have.

Beyond that, they participated in the kill. They have every right to roll on gear they’re eligible for.

If people afk after the boss you have to wait for a timer to auto pass or the person to come back not a huge issue but to say there is NO difference is false as the possibility to being trolled now exists where it did not before.
I also have also to watch a person win both tier tokens and refuse to trade one away.
It is not a real raid environment either remove it or treat it as what it is LFG based content. World bosses, 5m content all uses personal loot only LFR does not.

You contradicted yourself.

There is a difference, and it’s a massive difference for player toxicity. It needs to be reverted.

There was no bad luck protection in PL. Most of what people claim was BLP is actually just law of large numbers.

Many differences. For example…

  • Group loot prioritizes transmog hunters over players looking for ilvl upgrades.
  • Group loot can drop items that no one in the raid can use.
  • Group loot allows people who cannot equip an item to roll need.
  • Group loot allows a player to roll need on duplicate items and win both.

There is no difference in priority between these 2 under GL.

If and only if you bring a comp that allows that to happen.

This is objectively false post update, which you would know if you actually did a raid with the DF version of GL.

This is currently a bug that’s exclusive to tier items. (most logical explanation is something to do with them dropping as tokens)

“personal loot has always worked better”

? no it has not

group loot is fine

if you need it, you roll need. if you dont need it, you roll greed

no raids use personal loot

Incorrect. There are some pieces that you could use/ wear that you sometimes can’t roll need on.

But sure why, but it’s prevented a lot of people from helping to farm the bosses.

As much as I think group loot is a better system for organized content, anything with a queue where you can’t control group composition should probably just have personal loot.
