Bring Back Pandaria Cloak Questline

As Pandaria timewalking kicks off, I see it has now been seven years that I have been carrying six Titan Runestones in my bags. Six of twelve Titan Runestones and no legendary cloak. No black ox nuzzling my back as I tank Pandaria dungeons. No Ordos for me. I needed one more reset.

As someone who ran the Mage Tower religiously when it was current content (beat it with 12 specs), I see the Mage Tower is slated to be made available again on November 2, and Druids will have access to a version of the Werebear skin.

I did 90% of the Pandaria Legendary questline. All the rep. Almost all of the raid drops. I needed one more reset.

Please just put the questline back in the game. Thanks.

I would like to see that questline restored too. They were suppose to do a workaround for Oribos but they never bothered so I think it is the least they can do. Make it so the cloak only works in Pandaria so it doesn’t break the rest of the game if that is the issue. Goodness knows that did that for enough other stuff.

And I would also like to see the questline removed from WoD restored. I think it involved a ring.

Agreed. It’s unbelievable how the mage tower got put back pretty fast and nothing else from the past expansions.

Blizz stuck to their guns on everything else but not the mage tower.

People have been wanting the mist cloak for 9 years and blizz didn’t move an inch. But not with the mage tower.

Disgusting.

Mage tower is not rewarding the same rewards though.

It should come back. Unfortunately, Ordos’s transmogs were placed on the Black Market Auction House, so I don’t believe we’ll ever be able to fight him again.

Right but the experience is still there. Not getting the legendary at the end would still be acceptable IMO. At least personally I would love to just to be able to see the damn questline. I almost did it all but stupid high school me never finished it. I want to see how it ends! Or at the very least be able to get the epic version of the cloaks for transmog.

Whelp, they might as well bring back this questline…without the legendary cloak as a reward.

It is the Blizzard way.

Also can they bring back all of the quests from vanilla and put them in Chromie Time? There might be 1 or 2 players who would do those too.

Blizz could just give a cheap looking version of the cloak like they are doing with the Werebear reskin.

Honestly I wouldn’t even be mad about that. The epic versions of the cloaks are cheap looking anyways.

MoP was 9 years ago? God damn

I know. You don’t even get the effect when you moge it.

What a waste.

I would also like to see the entire Wrath Gate quest series brought back as well, including taking us to the Undercity afterwards where Jaina ports us all out just before the Horde leadership is wiped out.

The community has forgotten what a sh*tty move it was when Blizz removed the cloak questline in the first place.

The Panda cloak was the first “everybody gets one” quest-based legendary in the history of the game. The closest thing to come before was the Fangs of our Fathers quests in Cata (also Wrathion, interestingly). They were Rogue only.

Before the Panda cloak, every Legendary in the game had remained available in following expansions except for Atiesh which got removed a couple of expansions later. You can still get Thunderfury and Sulfuras today. That was the norm. If you can’t get it during the xpac, you can get it later. It won’t be useful gear any more, but you can still do the quests and get the item.

All through Pandaria, that was the expectation. Blizzard never said a word about the cloak being removed at the end of the expansion until two months before WoD. WoD dropped in Nov 2014. In Sept 2014, Blizz put out a press release: (https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/15910699/legendary-cloak-quest-last-chance-black-prince-buff-extended)

“This is your LAST CHANCE to get the Pandaria cloak. Get it NOW before it’s TOO LATE.”

It was an obvious attempt to punch up third quarter sub numbers leading into the new expansion.

It was not well communicated, and there were people like me who tried to finish before the arbitrary deadline and just missed it. I needed one more reset.
