The sliding rogue attack animations are the worst offenders. They look and sound terrible

The new animations are way, way better than the classic ones. They actually have impact and are pretty thematic.
Sorry but my Warrior and Warlock sound and feel better on retail, in terms of animations/sounds at least

I like the new animations, especially the sky-punch one…
But heck, my new model is so bad. The old night elf model was so much better, it had a pelvis/hips/waist and internal organs.
This model has no hips/waist/crotch and leg clearance. It also has a wasp-like abdomen and dorito shaped torso.
Where are his internal organs?! It looks like he’s been wearing a girdle for thirteen years!
The difference is night and day.
Yeah actually I do. It shows the rogue off as agile and quick. I know people like classic but come on guys, you can’t pretend the old animations are actually genuinely better, that’s going a bit far imo.
Classic animations are about as basic as they can get.
Please for the love of the Light don’t do what the OP wants.
The new animations are awesome.
New animations really breathed new life into the game for me. I appreciate the old ones, and I’ll enjoy them in Classic. But I like the new ones. I like the sound effects, the particle animations, and the polish of them. My old male human warrior 1h spin move animation was terrible. Looked like a pole had been shoved through my character’s head to the ground, and then someone just twisted the pole to spin him like a carousal character. In fact while I hate the look of the protection warrior artifact, I love the 1h special attack animation it came with. Wish it would stick to my new gear.
Now that’s something I can partially agree on. Though my issue is the weird facial hair, some of them look much better and actually fit the model compared to the modern day versions. Take that mustache-less beard for example, on classic it looked pretty cool but on retail it really sticks out
Same issue with humans actually, some of the hairstyles changed to be worse as well as facial hair. The flat-top hairstyle being the worst change offender, that was an impressively bad change.
Yes, lets go back to when casters had the same animations for every single spell they cast. And when models were ugly as sin.

Please no more stiff human running animations where my back doesnt move and just my hands and legs move and arms stay glued to my sides with really bad side to side shoulder movement while moving.
First thing a buddy said when he saw my human run was “It looks like your character has a broom stick shoved up his butt.”
So the answer isnt go back to old 15 polygon count models, its make all models look better.
I’d prefer the option to just toggle the old models, clearly they don’t wanna put effort into males and it shows.
Male nelves, trolls, and to a degree humans all look awful.
I want the toggle option just so we can see posts like these never make a return. I greatly prefer the new models over the old ones. I made girl’s back in Vanilla because everything else looked horrid.
Threads like this make me want to despair. There’s liking old stuff and then there’s being willfully anti anything modern.
Say what you will about design decisions but the art? The art is noticeably better across the board. Zones are glorious compared to the flat forests and deserts of the past. Textures are bigger. Characters have, y’know… working mouths, eyes… hands that aren’t painted chunks of meat. Faces might be similar but… its better than having 1 attractive face and 10 ancient/ugly/wrinkled variants. (looking at you orcs, gnomes, dwarves…)
You think ANY of the artists who created those models and animations from 15+ years ago is looking back at their ancient work thinking ‘yep! nailed it!’. Because I promise you they’re only seeing flaws and wishing they could go back in time and fix stuff. Probably the thing that made modern models less effective than they could be is Blizzard bending over too hard to keep the old players happy. So sticking too close to old animation rigs etc.

Not everyone thinks Sylvanas is jerk-bait. In fact she’s vomit inducing to me and so is the Blood elf rogue everyone is head over heels for.
At least the old nelf model had somewhat sensible proportions and you know… A core?
This model? I unno, I’ve been wanting to race change for awhile now because of it, but I also feel like that would be disingenuous to the character.
How fortunate for you then OP that you are currently playing those old models!
