Method 1 (preferred): 3s only - Create a new seasonal progress bar after Gladiator has been achieved, that 50 wins above 2400 will grant you a new currency token, which can be exchanged for ANY old elite set ensemble, once per season per character. The ensemble pieces will have Replica at the start of the item names.
Reasoning: This method will solve a reward rift between gladiator and rank 1, while emphasizing the prestige of how special the old sets were so re-obtaining them is challenging to reflect such prestige. I’m well aware that only 0.3% of players on average will be able to even obtain these replicas, but given how the community gave feedback against old sets returning back in January 2017, the main point being prestige, this challenge is an extremely reasonable compromise for the apex of the community.
Method 2 (compromise): 2s and 3s only - Create a “Duelist II” achievement rank at 2250 rating, granting the same new token to exchange for ANY old elite ensemble, once per season per character. The ensemble pieces will have Replica at the start of the item names.
Reasoning: This will solve a more accessible reward gap between duelist and elite for the above average player. The brackets being limited to 2s and 3s is to further add prestige to the arena format that has historically been the premier of WoW PvP. These brackets being typically harder via independent agency, and less inflated than Shuffle and Blitz.
Realistically there’s no way this topic can be implemented healthily with everyone being happy, but I believe these are the best methods that could appease most of this already miniscule community. The solo queue modes would not receive this love because they aren’t the premier rated formats, 2s isn’t either for that matter but it’s a double compromise for the average PvP main. I’m aware the spikey inflation trends of every season will skew the obtainability of these replicas, but there’s nothing that can be done about that problem that is a whole new can of worms.
PvP definitely needs more rewards, it’s a pretty good system now as it is, but more wouldn’t hurt, especially for arena given the introduction of Blitz when Shuffle is already fragmenting the activity.
I hope these methods could be agreed upon. Thank you for reading.

Don’t hate either idea to be honest. However, I think old Elite set token should be the standard 2400/50 wins. And make the mount 2700/50 wins. 2400-3k desperately needs a reward. This makes the most sense to me from a top-bottom reward structure.

I think it should be like the vicious mounts, 20 wins over 1k rating
Pretty sure they are exclusive and they won’t do it.
Probably not, but this is just spitballing ways they could reasonably go about reimplementing them.

They should just randomly drop from BGs and WPVP to trivialize them like old mythic raid sets have been
Why do people keep making this thread every couple months?
Noone who has sets that were under the pretense that they would be unobtainable in future expansions, wants them to be obtainable again.
Just have new sets. If you wanted the old set you should have played that season, making them obtainable again would cheapen them.
Season exclusive or expansion exclusive sets are just that. Deal with it.

No, we won’t be doing that. You play to earn the set when it’s a limited event or you miss out. Trading post has been the only mechanism to break that rule.

More rewards above 2400 isn’t going to accomplish anything for PVP, or PVP players.
Maybe. This is almost verbatim what I’ve proposed in the past and there was still significant pushback

ok we’re willing to relent but the caveat is that fw teams and ret teams are ineligible

Most elite sets are recolors, though. The exception being, like, s16.
Recoloring the recolors is good yes.
I don’t think they will allow that. Everyone and their mom would go after the WOD S1 Elite sets for Warr, DK, and Druid. What sense would it make if everyone has a chance to get those elite sets from WOD in TWW? There’s plenty of rewards from a participation trophy mount, elite recolor of a PVE set, Wep Enchant/Illusion, Tabard, Elite title (and others) and the glad mounts. Why is this not enough and that you need to get a set from a long time ago that you didn’t earn? I’m sure we all want past elite sets, but those are gone for a reason, thus why you want them due to their rarity and unattainableness. Maybe a recolor? Perhaps.

Why keep beating a dead horse. Its a junk idea sorry you missed out suck it up

The best option imo that will make most people happy and have a chance to do anything is just recolors of the past elite sets. This will receive the least amount of pushback if any pushback at all.

The game has a ton of unobtainables. I missed the boat on Diablo III meat grinder mount and I missed the BFA Blizz shop ship mount that I desperately want.
I think Blizzard does this on purpose (by sifting around the unobtainables) to encourage people to sub and play. It’s a big motivation for people to play. I have literally resubbed recently due to trading post mount that I liked or a time walking mount since I knew it was gonna go away.
Go do the raid and get the recolor.
Also, suck it.
