I’ve seen officers across multiple guilds have spreadsheets behind the scenes that updates every two hours telling them exactly what gear that player has, then uses it to influence loot trading.
Loot counsel is also biased and took too long.
The point is that you are never going to be able to escape the major loot issues with ML or PL. However, I do think that a more controlled approach to gear is probably best for everyone.
It doesn’t quite give us the same result as ML though, at least with the current implantation of PL.
ATM, PL works by rolling a player, then rolling an item for that player. This increases the drop rate of items that are on all the loot tables (neck, ring, cloak), and decreases the drop rate of items that are on the loot table for fewer specs in the raid.
Ever notice how many rogues complain about low drop rates on edge of night? Instead of Sylvanas having to roll 1 or more of n drops to be edge of night, It 1st has to roll that it wants to give loot to a rogue, then roll 1/4 (ring, shoulders, belt, dagger) Instead of 4 1/13 rolls from mythic, the actual number of rolls is 1/4 times the number of rogues in the raid divided by 20.

In raids, it would never work. In essence wow would experience countless people being kicked from guilds bc “ML or gtfo.”
90% of the people crying about master looter either joined a cesspool guild, got ripped off by a random pug group, or never actually experienced a master looter group even once.
Good guilds don’t rip people off, because they want to keep good players, lol.

Seems like to me it’s one side that believe the moment ML gets turned on we’re all going to turn into rabid animals while our side is just asking for options.

Dude my guild on tbc is horrible. They prioritized giving me tier over the mage because it would complete my set bonus.

If you are joining a guild that used ML and dont want to use ML then its not the guild for you.
My hockey team trains 2 times a week, Mondays and thursdays. If I turn up to trials and say “im only coming to 1 training a week and it has to be wednesday” then they would rightly tell me to find a new club.

If every guild is using ML (Because during ML’s heyday, Every guild was) Then you don’t have a choice but to put yourself at the mercy of other players.

Are we talking before PL existed? Because Personal loot didn’t exist until MoP.

Even during PL’s Existence ML was still 80+ in Guild utilization until the end of legion were it was removed outright also PL came in during WoD and was mandated for Raids in BFA, ML and PL Coincided as a choice during legion where it’s requirements to use ML got progressively stricter until it was removed

You people are thick headed and can’t think long term for the game as a whole. You people only care about the short terms and ignore the larger picture as a whole. But clearly you people want an environment that breeds toxicity and elitism and prioritize those of whom are closed to you. Which to me that sounds like toxic.

No.
Heroic maybe about half.
N is even way more skewed towards PL.
And there are reasons for that.
