That was literally impossible to do with the latest version of master looter. It’s like people have no idea what they are complaining about or something.

If the players at large all want to use PL why would they turn on ML of given the option?
Most normal / heroic raiders prefer PL, you saw roughly 80-20 split in favor of PL during Legion for heroic guilds.
Most mythic raiders prefer ML, the numbers were roughly the inverse.
Just let the players decide for themselves ffs.

That is legit the only reason. I don’t know why anyone still actually believes Ion when he gives his “plausible answers that aren’t why but could be so I’m not lying.”

I never raided on Master Looter era but if the reason loot would denied to me would be because i did better than others then i’d feel less compelled to try my best tbh.

This is the difference between a raider who plays for himself and a player who plays for the guild.
In my guild if an item drops, it’s up to the loot council to decide who gets the most power increase out of it as it will benefit the raid and help us to kill bosses.
Everyone in here who is saying master looter is bad because it takes their loot away is honestly just playing an entirely different game. Bring back master looter for mythic only then as apparently nobody in heroic guilds seem to give a hoot about their guild having a power increase

The guild leaders where never mean. They where like super nice swindlers. They always gave a great reason why the loot should go to X and not Z. They could practically choose from a list. In the sweetist tone possible. Always backed my the hypnotic verbal suggestion that they are always completely fair.
- Ok we are going to give this to “Name” so he can build this char, Because he is a faithful guild friend that we know will stay for a very long time.
- Ok we are going to give this to “Name” because they are the highest dps and we need to progress on this boss.
- Ok we are going to give this to “Name” because we want to encourage great attendance and this person has showed up faithfully.
- Ok we are going to give this to “Name” because we don’t think anyone else needs in and we want to encourage this pug to join our guild. (we will ignore the fact your rolling … oops we missed it.)
- Ok we are going to give this to “Name” because he had highest roll! (we did a roll off and it hit a acceptable person we didn’t have to override).
Now mind you the average person is ONLY paying attention to the loot they need and on average only 3-4 people need a unit of loot. That means a ML can use tricks 1-5 to bring the loot to whomever they preferred and make it sound completely logical to the rest of the guild (who is only half listening most times). Leaving only 2-3 people a loss on the item and on average 1-2 of them didn’t even seriously think they where going to get it and move on with their life’s. leaving 1 to seriously wonder what the heck just happened? And did anyone else see that? But no no no the brainwashing kicks in and they are assured the guild ML is always completely fair.
Followed by the motherly shame on anyone who should speak up.
- What’s a matter with you do you think we don’t treat you fair? We are always fair.
- Your being selfish and you need to stop. Stop thinking about your self it’s about the team.
- We always have your best interest at heart and you didn’t really need that.
- Well sweetie allow us to rip apart your performance if your gonna act like that.

Look, I’m not going to bother reading your rant because It’s way too long.
I don’t know what your interests are but from achievements I can see you’ve never obtained any cutting edge achievements and if you ever joined a guild that had aspirations to get cutting edge I can assure you would most definitely fail your trial because you believe distribution of loot will always have a cooked outcome.

Conversations like these remind of when my guild ran Sunwell as it was nerfed but before WOTLK was released.
We had a Hunter trial with us, who did good DPS and was there all the time. Thoridal dropped. And the Loot Council gave it to their Main Rogue.
I was disgusted. But I was just a member, and not on the council. The Hunter acted polite, but never showed up again, and I do not blame him. My guild did not blink an eye, and moved on, as well.
With the removal of ML, and Universal Personal Loot, the Bow would drop for the Hunter. Instead of being an accessory for a melee that the loot council likes.
Sure, it was the end of the Expac, but few people were even clearing Sunwell anyway, and that Hunter could have used it to level for WOTLK.

Yes, thank you for proving my point that the people who are against master looter aren’t even in a position where a guild would use master looter in the first place.
I was at one time. Not anymore because I’ve matured past the need to be the best of the best and just play for fun now. But even when I was at that point in my life I would never shame others like you just tried to shame me.

So therefore master looter being allowed to be used in mythic guilds would not impact you at all.

I don’t get why it can’t just be forced personal loot for pugs only.
Because as you can see from this thread, it’s a great example of people getting mad about something that doesn’t impact them at all.

You honestly don’t care the about the damage your Mythic raider rejects do to the rest of the game do you. I don’t think you have lived thru someone taking your beloved casual guild and attempting to optimize it. All in a vein attempt to get back at the mythic raid that dismissed them they will corrupt a lower level guild and drag them thru hell.
So YES I think the rest of us should have a say in it.
Master loot, or personal loot…
I rather it just be loot, with a “wishlist” kind of thing, and you can trade it to others should you want to.
Like you select the items you want more from 1-10 within the dungeon journal or something. 1 being what you want the most, and 10 being the least. 1 offers a higher percentage for the item to drop, 10 being the least but still more than not having it on the wishlist so to speak.
Just my two cents on how I would prefer loot be handled, at least in the sense it was not so RNG reliable, and should one want to, they could just give what they got to anyone they wanted as I don’t see why they shouldn’t be allowed that.
I personally don’t care about about your awful nightmare experience. You should just leave the guild if it was so bad.
I’m talking from the position of a raid leader of a mythic guild. Some jaded ex-cutting edge raider shouldn’t have any opinion on the matter. Just how I don’t try to force a loot method for heroic guilds like yours.
Which means your the center of the problem. You clearly follow the steps I pointed out. And you do not care about the guilds your selfish need for control may possibly destroy. If you where attempting to come up with a solution that kept everyone in mind when making a change I would be more adept to listen to you and even support you. However as it stands now I think your just a entertaining troll.
