No one knew at the time of MT that we’d eventually be able to use other spec appearances on our main spec. BfA has also had pretty terrible limited time rewards for people that played 8.3 and rewarding those players is important. Bring back MT until SL prepatch would be a fair compromise to keep the appearances limited time while also giving players a second chance of farming appearances for their offspecs to use with their main spec. Not to mention that for druids specifically they’re getting a barbershop feature just for these appearances.

No one knew anything, but I always suspected it. Which is why I got mine.
I am in favor of bringing back the Mage Tower forever though, so people can earn cosmetics because it’s character customization and IMHO time sensitive content like this is just a vile corporate practice to exploit FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out).
They could do with the Mage Tower what they do with Mythic Mounts. Make the challenge repeatable and give it a 1% chance to drop the appearance.

They can’t really bring back mage tower without completely overhauling the fights because not only are not using the same gear (artifact weapons) that they were designed for, but classes are very different from how they were when the mage tower was designed.
I’d be all for a NEW mage tower though.

Not just that but it was some of the most enjoyable game play we ever had imo.
No. Time sensitive meant time sensitive. And the amount of tuning and such would be absolutely ridiculous to make it so people can get it done.

I got all 36/36. But, as I am consistent every time, I believe exclusives and time limited items are good for the game. And that if something is time sensitive / time limited, it should remain gone once the deadline passes.

It’s good to have some time sensitive rewards.
A better idea is to introduce a new set of challenges, with new appearances.
People obviously enjoy working on the challenges and having the cosmetic reward in future expansions.
If the mage tower were ever brought back, players would just assume that the same thing will eventually happen with any solo challenge, thereby eliminating a huge part of the fun, and causing players to shrug their shoulders at any feature of this type.
The mage tower was a massive success. Even the Horrific Visions 5 mask achievement recaptures the same dynamic a little, though to a much lesser degree.
When something is a huge success, the appropriate response is to do it again, not do something that essentially undercuts the main reason it was a huge success in the first place.

No. We knew from the moment mage tower was announced it was only for legion. If you didn’t get other appearances thats on you. I got 31/36 and honestly didn’t think I’d ever use majority of them again and was fine with that. This is just an added perk. Should have put in the work

If they ever decide to bring back the Mage Tower then they better bring back the MoP Challenge Mode dungeon sets. I really want a chance to get that Shaman set.

I didn’t get them, sucks but I don’t mind it. Didn’t like legion personally. And there will be more time sensitive exclusives in the future anyways.
I got the WoD CM Golds anyways. They’re not incredibly common as the MT stuff it seems.

Why should the limited time option I have open up and not others?
I would like the MOP phoenixes, AQ scarab lord, etc…
HOWEVER, I didn’t get them and I’m ok with it.
You should be ok with not having the mage tower.

Agreed, my old friends are returning to WoW to play SL and I really like for them to experience Mage Tower as part of the Legion content you get to chose as you level up…
It was really good and I really like them to get to play the whole Legion Experience… and go to SL content with a good taste of that Mage Tower challenge fresh in their minds. Specially now that we getting SL version of it.

I got all of mine as well, and I’d be down with bringing them back like sort of a brawler guild sort of thing, where they’re scaled in around end of expansions life to provide some form of challenge for you to complete in about the last year of playing that expansion.

Or, and i know this might sound crazy, we get a new mage tower with new appearances and let those that worked/ “worked” for their legion appearances have their exclusive appearances as a sense of accomplishment. Not everything needs to be made available to everyone.

Can someone explain me what mage tower is?
I don’t think that sounds crazy, I got a couple of them and I love them. I just think that these incredible looks should be obtainable in some way, even if its a minuscule chance at a drop. By the end of legion it wasn’t really an accomplishment to obtain.
