I used to work 80-100 hours a week.
I managed to have one character of every class at heroic raid or equal pvp/mythic+ dungeon gear.
I managed to get the Mage Tower appearances on all four specs as a Druid. Two for the Mage, two for the warrior, three for the Warlock, two for the DK…essentially I have the majority of them on each class.
nobody is being punished, you hyperbolic turbo crybaby. You just can’t get the appearances. That is it. nobody banned you. Nobody hacked your account and took all your gold and deleted all your characters and took over your guilds. You did not get silenced. You had no actions taken against you for not getting the appearances.
Your whole argument sums up to “I want free stuff, and I did not put in the effort to get it while it was still there, WHAAAHHH!!!”
Meanwhile, my GF just recently started playing about a year ago…and guess what? She is not all offended and triggered because she cant get them. She gets why you can’t obtain them.
Next you are going to expect to be able to buy 150 acres of land for the low low price of 5 dollars an acre because of a newspaper add you saw from 1850…
Grow up, get over it, and stop crying about it. That goes to anybody who thinks the same thing as OP.
I mean hell…I even got the class mount on most of my classes…
Yep. I used to work week on, week off, starting Tuesdays and ending Mondays. 14 hour shifts. I literally missed every second week. I also have a wife and kids. And still some semblance of a social life. And I still got 36/36.
I’m all for revisiting the Mage Tower rewards (another tint for latecomers is my suggestion), but I don’t buy this argument when I see it pop up. I had virtually no time. But I managed that time well.
In this topic: Dozens of users defend Blizzard’s psychologically abusive practice of manipulating mentally vulnerable people into feeling “required” to do things within an allotted time frame. FOMO is good for businesses and no one else. I see a lot of people here talking about entitlement, but is asking for another chance to get an item really more entitled than demanding no one ever be given the opportunity to earn your precious reward again?

They were advertised as time sensitive. We all knew from the beginning they would be time sensitive. You didn’t play the class you want them on now, that’s your fault. I knew it would bother me if I didn’t get them, so I got all 36. If you thought you might change, or you weren’t sure, you should have planned ahead.
Because you can go back and unlock 95% of everything in this game. The small 5% of exclusives that’re in the game should remain. Exclusives are good.

All I did was use the words “mage tower” in the search field, I didn’t actually look at the dates - and these were just the ones I picked, there were many more. It doesn’t matter how old they were, the point I was making was that (a) the topic is not new, has been posted almost weekly since the end of Legion and (b) nothing new is added to the discussion.
The fact is, there have been things included in the game and then removed almost since the beginning. Some are simply seasonal or tied to a specific event, others are achievements. Sometimes they change their minds and reintroduce them or make them available, often they don’t. Probably the first legendary Wrathion cloak would be a prime example of the latter. Despite it being asked to be returned since the end of MoP, that questline and cloak has never been put back in the game. So repeatedly asking for it over those years has had zero effect.
It is sort of the forum equivalent of beating your head against a wall.
I wish this was a banned topic to make.
Then we could be happy in the knowledge that those trying to bypass that ban would get slapped for being stupid.
Aka please stop, it’s not happening.
You had your chance and missed it, oh well tough troggs.

When the thing in question was announced as time limited before it even hit the live game, and throughout its lifespan in game? Yes, yes it is.

You’ve got hundreds of other cool appearances you can use. You can live without a tiny fraction of exclusives.

Are you serious? I mean, you’re pulling our chain, right?
That is actually one of the most ridiculous, over-the-top statements I’ve seen on this forum, and I’ve seen some doozies.
People will play any sort of asinine card to justify why the MT appearances should be brought back.
Think about it - they have to make serious claims just so they can yell for a virtual appearance or a set of to return.

Because they said they were.
It’s reasonable because they said they were going to do it over a year in advance.
Not having every cosmetic under the sun isn’t punishment and impedes your gameplay in no way.
Because a part of the prestige is that they were being removed.
They removed the Legendary cloak questline from MoP, they removed Challenge Mode appearances, they’ve removed the Gladiator mounts with every new season. They’re gone.

No to bringing back the rewards from the mage tower.
Yes to bringing back the mage tower with all new rewards to
collect. Or something like the mage tower.

Can man count that high? I think not, perhaps a machine but that would take millennia.
Dead serious. You should look up “Let’s Go Whaling” on Youtube. It’s a presentation where a CEO (Torulf Jernström) discusses ways of psychologically exploiting people for money.
Anyway, it’s easy to say “Yes, that’s entitled” when people ask for another chance to earn things in the game, but the reason people are so vehemently against offering another chance is actually because they’re afraid of losing something - namely, “prestige” in the form of scarcity" Other people getting mage tower skins doesn’t make yours look any worse. You just want to feel special. Why not allow these items to be available using some scaling system? Would earning them be the same as earning them in Legion was? Of course not. But that’s the nature of MMOs. Most items lose value over time. I don’t see why these skins should be any exception. You’re free to disagree, of course, but the side asking for another chance to earn an item is no less entitled than the side insisting they should never have a chance. I know they’re rare these days, but new players do exist. (I can’t imagine why, given the prevalent attitude.) Not everyone had the opportunity to earn the items in Legion, and that’s to say nothing of how real life obligations might get in the way.
Sure. Bring it back but you only get one try. Die and it’s gg for you. You tried.

you could have gotten welfare gear on every class and unlocked the skins in no time. IF THEY BRING BACK THE MAGE TOWER ARTIFACT SKINS THEN THEY HAVE TO BRING BACK THE MoP ARMOR SETS AND WoD WEAPONS
If they bring it back it should be for new appearances. They announced those appearances were limited time. It is what it is.
I am in favor of bring back the Cata/Mop skins and Mage Tower. IMO, they can be acquired during their Timewalking weeks. For the Cata/Mop, adjust them to work with the Mythic+ system. You get the pieces for every Mythic 15 you complete in time.
For Mage Towers, yes they do need to be re-balanced to work with the changes in SL. In fact, during Legion TW, you have to unlock the MT just like we did when it was current content. Gather resources and deposit them to open up the tower. The biggest kicker is that the resources will be TW specific. When the event is done, all of the resources you’ve collect are gone. This way, we don’t have players farming resources to brute forcing the towers.
Will the dev team do this. Most likely not, but I am hoping they re-evaluate these systems. And if they never do, then I do DEMAND one thing for the Artifact weapons: If the Artifact weapon was not unlocked, and will not be available again, then it shouldn’t appear in the UI. To me, it is just dangling the carrot without the seeing the reward (I hope my analogy makes sense).
