I recently started playing a legion private server, to relive the good days of content, and I started playing my favorite spec, demo, and I loved it. My pets feel important instead of having 20 imps and feel like you’re doing nothing, I have good burst with my thal’kel, no building up for a tyrant that will do all of my damage so everything else seems like it does damage, my dreadstalkers applied a debuff that made my imps do more damage, there is just so much that I enjoy more about Legion demo that Blizzard should restore it. If you took legion demo and put it into SL then I think a lot of people would enjoy it more, also give us an intterupt ffs
This is bannable. I wouldn’t admit to it.
Just thinking about Demonic Empowerment makes me shrivel up.
Felguard has one now.
Hated Legion demo. Felt clunky and just overall bad.
Demonic Empowerment - one of the worst spells that lock ever had. Makes me want to shrivel up as well.
Heck, I didn’t like Legion warlock at all. Left my warlock neglected only to play him during mage tower attempts.
So is morphing but streamers never get banned for it.
I did enjoy the implosion build when my warlock was a goblin. Blowing things up is good good good.
Yeah, I experimented with Demo late into Legion and personally, I quite enjoyed it… EXCEPT for Demonic Empowerment, and, tbh, Life Tap.
Demonic Empowerment made it feel like I needed to hardcast it after pretty much every single demon summon, and it felt like I was doing nothing as it had no visual impact at all, like DoTs except you don’t even see a debuff on your target. The gact that it had no cooldown was a major reason as to why it was so bad, if it even just had a 10 second cooldown you’d be using it less and trying to time it with stronger summons more, but even then it’d be a trash tier spell.
As for Life Tap, well, I haven’t liked that spell since… what was it, WotLK? Cata? When DPS mana was in general made irrelevant. When mana management was across the board necessary Life Tap was a good spell to have, turning Healer mana into Warlock mana was a powerful advantage that fit the theme of the class. As soon as all the other DPS classes started getting endless amounts of mana, Life Tap went from an advantage to a burden. We had to have high mana costs and low mana regen to justify Life Tap, and we had Life Tap because… well… because it was warlock flavour? I’m sure we could have thought of better ways to show life for power than keeping this antiquated spell in the game for so long…
Legion Demo, to me, had the worst of that. Everything Demo did cost so much mana that it seemed you needed to Life Tap every 5-10 seconds. That was way too excessive, and Aff and Destro didn’t have nearly as much of a problem with it.
Between Life Tap and Demonic Empowerment, Legion Demo felt like the Maintenance Spell spec, casting these two spells not because you want to, not because they’re good spells, but because you HAVE to just to make your spec work.
I [Demonic Empower] Really [DE] think [DE} it’s [DE] a [DE] bad [DE] Idea [Life tap]
I think there’s some merit to bringing back demonic empowerment of it’s changed to something more like lasting 5 second or so and having a 25 second cool down.
It just made the demons feel like they were hitting something and not just tickling imo
I liked using Demonic empowerment. There I said it.
Yea it made your demons feel like demons not kids wearing demon costumes.
Legion Demo lock had one shiny sprinkle on the turd sundae. Open world and pvp AoE was hilariously fun with old dark glare - infernal - imp bombs. It’s not as clunky now but also not as interesting.
