Bring Back Hunters barrage!

For 20 years I played a hunter and used Barrage a lot. Please bring it back. it is an integral part of my rotation. (despite you taking it away from all specs) You have volley for marksman, yet killed beast-masters by taking away barrage saying it does not fit the lore. Wrong, as an archer, it fits the lore on every spec. freeking brann has volley as a healer yet a hunter as beast-master, who had it since birth no longer does?!! it kills me. I am a solo player and you keep killing the solo player for mythic or raids, not everyone enjoys spending hours doing a rain or the same dungeon over and over but harder . the just lazy game play. come on Donkey Kong get with the times!! I love playing solo and you keep taking things away that make solo play fun! please bring back barrage. for all specas would be fantastic! but at least beast or marksman. I mean a marks man could absolutely let loose a barrage of arrows!

If your a transmog farmer or need crafting materials it was a huge time saver. Could clear a room in second, and then loot. The damage was minuscule, but the utility of it was fantastic.

Not a single good reason to remove it. Just Blizz being lazy.

  • murder of crows…gone
  • Barrage…gone
  • Dire Beast…trashed.

Just delete Beastmaster blizzard and get it over with…youve killed the personality of the spec.

Clearly laziness was the reason. No time to ‘balance’ a couple abilities so lets just remove them entirely.

We definitely needed yet another thread asking for a dead talent back.

Agreed. Why not just keep it in the talent tree…
Classes have wildly different amount of talent point nodes anyway… It is not like each class has 80 or something.

Odd move. And a bad one.

So a flavor talent can not exist in the talent tree?

It’s a dead talent.

Doesn’t interact with how BM does damage or aoe

Has zero worthwhile utility at max level

Has zero pickrate in LFR.

It’s buggy and has massive issues

It’s a terrible talent.

I have no real evidence of what I’m about to say. So take it with a grain of salt.

I think the removal of Barrage and the removal of animal-less Hunter (with the adition of the Mandatory Bird to M&M Hunters) means we will get a new Ranged Weapon Class.

So I fully expect Barrage to return, but it won’t be a Hunter spell.

The reason I feel this way is because it reminds me of WoD, when Blizzard started making room to add Demon Hunters in Legion.

First, they added Demon Bolt. A talent that vastly outperformed it’s competing Talents and reduced Warlock Metamorphosis uptime from minutes to like 4 seconds.

Then they nerfed Demonology Warlocks to the ground to get people to stop playing Demonology, so they would be less attached to the spec when Meta was removed.

Then they removed Meta and added Demon Hunters.

This time they are doing it a bit differently, but I feel that the end goal is the same. To make thematic room for a new Class that occupies a similar space.

Sounds like, if this is even close to accurate, that Ion and crew are literally TRYING to cause another mass exodus of irritated paying customers who’d rather go play a game like ESO where the irritation factor is close enough to zero to not even be a blip.

Whys everyone yelling about barrage recently

Ignore that one. Hes bothered enough fair minded folk in here today.

The fact that so many are tossing a fit about Barrage is conclusive proof that it isnt ‘dead’ as the attention seeker keeps asserting.
I see it used and abused by hunters all the time in game. Though not used properly at least half of those times lol. Not a good thing to use in mob packed strathholme especially when the scaling has decided that one shotting the party is a funny thing to do today. lol

Blizzard slowly removed Barrage from the game over the course of two patches.

On 11.1 they removed it from half of Hunters (M&M), now on 11.2 they removed it from the other half (BM) lol

I mean that isn’t a bad theory. I still think they’re going to strip MM of their Hunter pets in the future like they did with the Water Elemental from Frost Mages. The scenarios feel too similar and if they do I feel bad for all the MM who will be stuck with only being able to use the bird talents that the all holy Blizzard have decreed is the only true and right way to play MM.

I mean with Frost Mage they made the Water Elemental optional first but allowed you to take it, then later just removed it outright. They are kind of doing that with MM Hunter pets right now.

I believe they already tried removing Marks’s pet fully and people blew up the PTR forum. It’s why that node is a choice node with a limited pet.

Yeah but if you noticed they went ahead with keeping the new bird stuff in and making it a choice node scenario. It feels like they are trying to groom people into using the bird and then once everyone MM is used to using the bird talents they’ll take away the MM pets quietly.

I thought it was removed long ago lmao

Only from MM. They stripped Volley from BM and gave it to MM only and took Barrage from MM and gave it to BM only.

Eh. I’d expect the exact same blowback if they tried it again. Given the original plan was to change only to the bird. Lot of the blowback was from people wanting pets for RP or sentimental reasons the bird cannot replicate.

Co-signing this too

It should’ve just been made baseline in the spellbook, not removed. If top 1%ers and M+ junkies were never spending a talent point on it then just leaving it as a baseline spell in the background would’ve made both camps (casuals vs “high-end” players) happy
