Bring back Hide Cloak/Helm in esc menu

I miss this option, it’s much better than having to deal with your helm and cloak when leveling and having to go back to you city to remove them.

New expansions this is particularly annoying when you replace gear a few times in a zone.

It would be great on 9.0 to have this feature back.

it would be cool but with the transmog guy its easy to remove your help/clock, yet it does cost you (like 1g)

i do remember when they changed it just before legion. it was one of the reasons i quit

Buy the transmog mount, problem solved!

There’s the Grand Expedition Yak for … 120k gold I believe? Up in Kun-Lai Summit.

Can also buy some Deployable Attire Rearranger’s from the AH (or craft your own if you have a BfA Engineer)

Hiding gear is free. You can hide everything but your pants and weapons.

I’ve learned to get used to it, and I have the GEY (Grand Expedition Yak) so it’s easy for me, but I really hate that I have to do that every time I want to hide my helmet and cloak. It just ruins immersion so much, for me.

“I’m out of that dangerous situation so I don’t need my helmet. Let me fart out this massive elephant and use the transmog guy to disable it for now.”

Yes, the yak is good. Also if you build a storehouse in your garrison, you get a Tmogger at level 3. Plus you have a hearth there.

I mean, that’s just a more tedious way to do something so simple and it takes you out of what you’re doing - which is supposed to be the whole point. Plus your hearth is limited by a cooldown, so if you want to keep turning on and off your helmet - say, in an RP (if you’re on a roleplaying server) - you’re basically saying that you want to break off from what you’re doing and do this single arbitrary thing.

Seriously, what’s wrong with a toggle option? Either in the Interface menu or in the Character Window. In fact, why is Transmog even limited to using NPCs? WildStar, Guild Wars 2, and Final Fantasy XIV have, or had, the UI built into their character windows to allow changing of wardrobes, why force us to have to use an NPC to do it? Sure, FFXIV requires you to go into an inn room to change your glamour wardrobe but that’s still loads better because the UI to actually utilize your appearances is built into the character window.

Just take the monetary value from the NPC and put it into this UI.

I remember this option, and actually miss it. It’s too bad you can’t just set it in your mogs to stay hidden until you select it to show again or something, but it is what it is I suppose.

For me it makes much more sense talking to a NPC than simply “oh let me equip this helmet that will instantly disappear for no reason whatsoever”

That would be great too, at least to keep the helm and cloak perma-hidden regardless of changing the helm/ cloak unless you want to change it in town.

Allow me to paint you this scene, then.

A knight wearing full armor rides up on their horse to approach a crowd of their followers. They dismount from their steed and steps up.

/em pulls off their helmet.

The knight summons a giant elephant and talks to an NPC just for the privilege of taking off their helmet.

Elephant suddenly disappears.

Are you telling me that this doesn’t ruin your immersion?

EDIT: I realize that simply unequipping the helmet is the easier way to go, but you also have that situation where you’re probably going to be going into a combat situation (like on an RPPVP server, you take off any piece of gear and you’re already at a disadvantage against other players). So why take out this simple method of convenience? It certainly wasn’t for immersion’s sake.

I do hate having to run to transmog because I literally never wear a helmet. If they don’t want to give us back the toggle it would be nice if you could set it to default invisible at the transmog guy or something. On the upside at least they don’t charge to remove it.

Yes, I am telling you that.

To me having a dedicated tradesman make your gear invisible is much more believable in game than your gear just being invisible for no reason. If a player wants to just not wear a helmet that option is available. The old way never made sense from an immersion standpoint and wasn’t even an original option, it was just the quickest way they could implement a highly requested feature.

Unless you’re a Windwalker! Then it’s everything but pants.

Because hiding slots was coded into transmog and no longer an option menu.

Just don’t walk into an RP situation with your helm on. Problem solved. Many of us RPers have easily found ways to work around it.

Mine is an Undead, not sure anyone wants to see that. :face_vomiting:

Or would they? There are some strange folk out there.

I miss being able to pop my helmet off in a city (without unequiping it), and then putting it back on when I went out to fight. I’ve played RP realms since I rolled, of course I did this.
