Title really. Players are very opinionated on the topic, but i have always been pro-GDKP, and I know others are as well.
I don’t want to join your 5 hour, 3/8 guild run with everything HR-ed.
I don’t want to join a HM2 pug where none of the alts have cleared naxx, and are at 2/8 sanc.
I can’t always dedicate the exact same time, every night, every week, for a guild run.
If you like these runs, more power to you, and enjoy away. Conversely, let me play the raiding scene the way I wish.
SOD is in its last phase, the RMT never stopped, and to be frank, the quality of the raid scene has heavily decreased.
You tried banning it, now try unbanning it and see if participation picks up.
In WotLK Classic that was the only pug raid type available. If you wanted to pug on alts you had to do GDKP’s there was no option. Some guilds even went to GDKP as a loot system.
It’s what killed WotLK Classic for me, and I hope GDKP’s are banned for MoP Classic as I have interest in playing MoP Classic where I didn’t for Cata.
For starters players who don’t RMT don’t have to worry about getting suspended for receiving dirty gold from a GDKP putting their accounts at risk.
The raid scene is significantly healthier where you have pug runs going on all the time for alts and the like in SoD. GDKP’s would destroy that and likely the economy as well.
It killed wotlk for you, but it kept me interested in it. I ran multiple Ulduar and ToGC gdkps and had a blast.
I never once was banned or reported for receiving “dirty” money so i don’t know where that’s coming from. Everyone has an anecdotal story about the guildie that got banned, but cant point to who that guildie was. If that’s a concern for you, again don’t run them
If having 1 SE raid on a saturday night stuck at 22 members trying to hit 30, with wings/leg/patterns/tier helms reserved, on a guild that went 3/8, is healthy, or undergeared chars trying to host naxxes, lets agree to disagree.
I’d love to see any data you have about it actually reducing RMT, as Blizzard doesn’t provide that data, so i have no idea where you’re pulling that from.
At the end of the day, you provided your opinions about being anti-gdkp, which is fine. Youre allowed to not like them. I am allowed to enjoy them, and think they should be brought back
also post on your sod char if youre claiming to be part of the SOD community. If you arent even playing sod, please go elsewhere
I am inspecting them, and that’s the point I’m getting to. There are lower quality raids out there. I’d personally rather join a GDKP run where I knew the quality going in. The GDKP scene was a guild scene under another name, where we knew each other and what people where capable of.
I don’t think using SE is a bad example as we did the GDKPs for other raids when they freshly came out. You’re right it needs tuning, but I bet there would have been better quality runs for SE with them. Or if they failed, at least make some gold out of the run.
Again, I realize it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but personally, GDKPs worked much better for me. Blizz said they’d revist at the end of SOD when they banned them in P1, and then we never heard about it again. I would like them to re-visit that decision, and I think they are other players who feel the same.
Go play Counterstrike or a different game. If all you want to do is sit in a lobby que, than this MMO is not for you. Ultimately, GDKP transforms the game for everyone else with how it effects the economy and raiding scene, so no. Go play a different game.
No, how overtuned it is. Less guilds have cleared SE with the supposedly intended 20 than mythic LoU. If you think this raid tuning is okay your a clown, full stop.
Too bad I’m overperforming in my role according to logs in my raid. So your argument that I need to be carried kind of falls flat.
Then look up the stats yourself. It took me about 30 seconds for get that information. Also, again, your saying harder. The mechanics of SE aren’t hard compared to mythic retail, not by a mile, its the tuning.
No it wasn’t. Everyone loves to tell this LIE. That no other raid aside from GDKP ever existed. The fact was the GDKP raids just had a better pool of players and the raids were generally smoother and more efficient than other PUG types.
The economy is already destroyed thanks to incursions.
