All 3 specs feel bad to play now.
Or, fix the tuning for each spec. Survival, despite looking like Frankensteinâs monster, was fun when Kill Command had no cooldown. Dunno why they slapped a cooldown back on it, but it throws off the groove. ![]()
Beast Mastery⌠I keep running out of focus. Whatever they do, they need to buff the Focus Regen for that spec because it DESPERATELY needs it.
Marksman⌠I cannot comment on. Havenât played it since TWW started. I miss the haste buff we had in Dragonflight.
took Rost here to the pre-patch, Survival has been wrecked. some of my other hunters are MM and thus get less attention so for the moment I havenât noticed anything too bad from them.
I havenât even tried the new BM yet, my poor hunter has 2 ranged spells, everything else is on the pet.
I play MM and its not the tuning thats the problem, its the fact there is literally nothing to do and the skill ceiling is so far in hell a 5yo could genuinely pull off the rotation flawlessly with 5 minutes of showing what to press.
There is no room for getting better, increasing DPS with experience maximising output, reacting to stuff fast enough to get the most out of it, nothing.
Its literally Button 1, Button 2, Button 1, Button 2, Button 1, Button 2 and when it comes up Button 3.
In that order, always forever in all circumstances. There are no buffs, procs, ability interactions, cooldown changes, changes based on movement, just nothing. Its just those buttons in that order, done.
Has any dev commented or responded to any complaints. How dull and dumbed down. Diablo has more clicks after 20 minutes.
âNot all class specs will be playable on console but Hunter will!â
since half our stuff is gone and weâre now a 4 seconds of glory 40 seconds of limp noodle spec, pvp is going to be an absolute nightmare.
and they shoehorned in DWâŚbut it sucksâŚso now survival gets to experience the same endless 2h vs DW balance woes that frost has dealt with for years.
in fact, with how bad they Fâed up survival, iâm 100% convinced the same dev(s) responsible for frost dk got moved to survival hunters. thatâs probably why frost is in a pretty good spot now since 11.2.
Iâm praying that the class pruning is Blizzard setting up a Talent/Ability overhaul. Sure, it is mind-numbingly boring for some (or many) players for now, but I have hope theyâre cooking something good.
I honestly donât mind bouncing between Raptor Strike and Kill Command, though Iâd prefer if it was Hatchet Toss, but⌠they havenât given it the love it deserves⌠yet.
Who knows, this could be the first step toward better tuning and class theme dynamics. ![]()
Nope, and I consistently brough that up in the beta forums that we should be owed some responses to the large amounts of negative feedback thatâs been given. Not just about hunter, but basically every class.
Even just a post acknowledging that weâve been heard wouldâve gone a long way in my eyes. But I kind of just feel like a lot of what weâve brought up has just been largely ignored. ![]()
Iâve seen this play out multiple times before. Blizzard inevitably goes to do some massive shakeup of classes in the form of a massive prune and then it backfires and explodes in their face, and then they âunpruneâ and then kits continue to balloon in size until we inevitably get a massive prune, and the cycle continues.
That kind of optimism doesnât belong on the forums. Who do you think you are!
JK. Iâm skeptical given Blizzâs recent track record but I hope youâre right.
âFool me once shame on you. Fool me twice⌠well.. you canât⌠fool me again.â

Whats crazy is there are units in Warcraft II that have more combat abilities than Hunters. Like literally multiple random units in an RTS have more depth and combat options than an entire class in an MMO.
Thats utterly insane and yet here we are.
And dotaâs invoker has more abilities than basically any mmo class/spec
(and classes do have more abilities than the mages/dks ur prob thinking about, itâs just that theyâre defensive/utility/etc)
Iâm a little skeptical too, but given some of the small reveals in the State of Azeroth such as Prop Hunt and the continued improvement of Housing, I am cautiously optimistic! ![]()
I thought so at first, but after playing it, it really doesnât impact the gameplay as much but the talent to get 2 stacks of tip feels mandatory.
I really have never run into a focus problem or had any real downtime. Sometimes things get a bit awkward during cdâs but thats not often at all.
Thankfully I am not running out of focus, but the cooldown has been noticeable, at least for me. I find myself awkwardly looking at the ability to see if itâs off cooldown whereas before I could use it without diverting my attention. ![]()
The issue is that those are for the most part separate teams.
And if itâs not separate teams iâd rather the team work on class/spec refining over prop hunt.
the sideshow that is housing has nothing to do with how classes play
Just came back to give it a try and they seemed to have made my hunter extremely boring to play. Very disappointed.
