Should they not hold if they are equipped, any enhancements and each bag slot needs the same for each item. It’s a lot bigger than you think.
I’m aware of the intricacies, they are all pointers, it doesn’t hold any actual stats, quest completed are a bool flag which is a byte, it’s not like every character completed all the quests, we know that certain quests are grouped… so when they are marked completed its for the whole group. Enchants would be a primary key, one per item slot. It sounds like a lot of things but when you compare every connection to byte sized we are talking kb’s here surely not gb’s per character.
I want this, yes. Please bring this back. I have two very well geared characters I would absolutely love to bring to raids in classic era that are rotting in TBC.

I suggest not leveling any characters you might want to preserve in case there’s some kind of way to clone them again in the future. I’m definitely not touching my 60 lock that’s trapped on wrath.
Ignore the troll posters that say it’s not possible, because they don’t actually know.

My ticket was answered today by a GM:

I don’t know what else to do. I will cancel my subscription and request a pro-rated refund for the game time that I added so that I could play the characters that were automatically moved to Wrath Classic without my consent. It’s disappointing because I was looking forward to playing Hardcore mode as well.

2004… back when space efficiency actually mattered and it was standard to make stuff as small as possible because storage was expensive.
