Bring back DRIVE

At least have it as a world quest where we drive through the crowded markets of Tazavesh, delivering packages and people in the style of crazy taxi.

It wasn’t well liked… while I think they will rework it and try to take another bite of the apple you likely have an expansion till then

I hated DRIVE, but if others liked it… I can ignore one World Quest for y’all to do your thing.

It could have been a lot of fun but in typical Blizzard dev fashion, they went way overboard and ruined a good thing.

I agree with this, i can’t stand it, but i have no objection to it existing for an occasional world quest or event. I definitely don’t want any new expansions designed around that nonsense.

Screw drive never bring it back thanks.

The core system itself was good… the execution of said system on the otherhand was not… they leaned too heavily into the wreckless nature of goblins with the tuning of the system, and as a result it made the vehicles too fast, too hard to control, and just not good for the cramped space that the system was showcased in…

Slow it down, increase control, and allow us a sort of gear shift system to switch between long distance and short distance navigation…

The high speed would make land mounts viable again, but without the ability to seamlessly switch to a slower more controlled mode, it’s impractical.

I think the hate for DRIVE wouldn’t have been as prevalent if they had not of released it and restricted it to the most densely packed and crowded zone in the entire game.

You can’t DRIVE for more than 10 seconds without bumping into something while in Undermine, and it quickly becomes more frustrating than anything fun and intuitive, like skyriding.

Blizzard just chose the worst possible time to release this feature.

Fleshing out GW2 like archetypes would be cool, especially if they’ve value in those types.

I am surprised drive started so fast though lol, I think it would have been better to add more progression and start the player with a more balanced easier to drive car. That way players who were born to hate it would probably ā€˜not mind it’ and those who wanted to go fast would progress the system.

Additionally there can be more ideas into the ground mount upgrades, like GW2 shows, as we get different terrain and player types. Like being able to blink up certain distances (like the sand wolves in GW2). Or just talking about drive system, one upgrade could be rocket wheels that allow you to make far more controlled turns, or slippy rubbery bumpers to make crashes both less likely but also easier to recover from. (And for things that make it accessible, you just start the player with those options)

This customization can also feed into some flying mount ideas. As a mega tangent, please add Soar to DH … :stuck_out_tongue:

Also a QoL instant switch mount (when mounted) could be a nice way to meld these systems when using ground only mount, water only mount, and so on (so that way I don’t feel cumbersome using X when Y does it all- especially if the system itself can auto-do it or allows addons to do it).

Definitely I see my ground mount only, like motorcycle, and think ā€œdamn that’s slowā€. After some of the smoothing out I like the drive system, though I think they can continue to improve the experience.

Nope I have not use it, not even once in raids I get people to summon me. I am bad a driving in real life thus why I don’t drive and I am bad at driving games in general

More than 10 seconds? You give it too much credit… its not possible to even last 5 seconds…

Why drive when you can fly

Bring back

F.L.Y.

Was just getting ready to type up something similar. I think it would have been more well received if it weren’t for the cramped zone.

Three dimensional flying feels much better than two dimensional flying.

I’m sorry but Falling Lateral to Y-axis or F.L.Y. Never got enough funding form the council to progress into prototyping phase… something about failing to satisfy all safety regulations…

I like DRIVE, but I certainly don’t want it to replace the current ground mount system. I do hope that there’s some sort of future implementation of it - like a world quest - rather than it just becoming another zone-specific mount that we never use again.
