MoP had so many of the best iterations. man, i loved BrM…
Anyways i think its funny that destro now has more of a demon form than demo has. Its weird and I think about that every time i use the c/d.

Would be fun if you could unlock a cosmetic form in a Lock and DH colab questline.
Demo needs to remain the same mechanically

i kinda dig it but it’s kind of pet overload. You can summon like 8 different kinds of demons, that’s a lot of c/d’s to set up at the start of every fight. It’s like affliction but with pets

Warlock across the board was chef’s kiss in MoP.
DoT management with Aff and snapshotting
Demo with Meta management
Destruction with embers
Then the dev who helped with the class revamp burned the bridge with Blizzard and all the changes conveniently got reversed over the next few expansions.

Tell me why warlock need a demon form, now that DH exist and fill that need, how would it make their playstyle better or transform it in a way that wouldn’t feel like a copy cat of today DH.
They probably don’t. I think the current demo design fits their fantasy pretty well (though I haven’t played a lock seriously since WoD), but the gameplay was crisp which is what people remember so fondly.
That said
MoP through WoD Meta had no cooldown and was a stance to swap in and out of as you stacked demonic fury to use for increased damage.
Bringing back MoP Demo wouldn’t feel like you were copying DH beyond the fact both could turn into demons.

Locks do need some love
Demon form for demo warlocks needs to come back. DH is fun and all but demo’s demon form was top notch
I’m fairly sure Heckcaller Warlocks are the spiritual successor of Warlock Meta, as you transform into a Demon.
The difference is that instead of swapping your model for purple Illidan, they paint you purple and give you fancy glowing horns and big anime eyes.
There are pros and cons to this approach. On one hand, you don’t get wings or hooves, just horns. That’s sad. On the other hand, the old meta model wasn’t kind on every Warlock. Female Warlocks complained about turning into shirtless dudes, and big strong Warlocks like Orcs complained about Meta making them look small and puny.
As for me, I like it in theory but not in execution. My main problem with Heckcaller is that the Demon form doesn’t turn green if you have green fire. OG Meta had a green form…

They advocated for warlocks too close to the sun getting fired and now we have NFTs.
You must not have played demo lock in mists. Because the way it worked was nothing like modern demon hunters.
initially since demon hunter was my most wanted class I was fine losing demo lock for dh. But metamorphosis is just a boring cooldown ability in dh.
In locks it was a whole mechanics it was THE whole mechanic. It was everything. If demon hunters played even 50% how old demo lock did I’d be fine with it. But no class, no spec in any game I’ve played plays like old demo lock. Where you’d build up energy allowing you to transform freely as long as you had energy and it would radically transform many of your abilities.
The closest is probably reaper in ffxiv but reaper can’t freely shift between them. It’s just build and burst.
Give me a spec like that and i’ll complain less.
Old legion era spriest was sorta like that but it was a weird fight against the clock mechanic and was super annoying and now even that is gone.
Hellcaller gives us a new type of metamorphosis and it’s a million times better, imo. I despised the design of “turn into vehicle demon with new abilities and go melee” or whatever that stuff was. It’s so long ago now I barely remember, avoided it like the plague. I hated that iteration.

NGL tempted to RC to dracthyr so I can RP as my “dragon” form being my demon form. Problem with that is I’m forced into demon form in log-in screen and forums to be in demon form.
It looks swank. I don’t want to be a vehicle. I want to play my character.
I just wish it had the Dark Apotheosis wings.
And that it was green.
Then it would be the perfect Demon transformation to end all Demon transformations
