I remember this ‘event’ back when ZG first came out and the plague escaped the instance. Given that we have usually seen some kind of prelaunch event before every expansion. Nothing seems more fitting given a certain major event of 2020, that we would get a matching event in WoW. Not everyone playing WoW now was around back then. I think that given we will probably never see the Corrupted Blood plague outside of an instance again, having it come back as a prelaunch world event would be cool. Could also make for an interesting study on player behavior.
The Chaotic Evil inside of me just wants to see the cities burn and be littered with corpses. We do need another plague type thing to happen.
Although, might be considered to be in bad taste with Corona Virus still going around.
With the amount of hyper sensitive ultra offended SJW cancel culture, this is LITERALLY what would happen. Riots, and riots on every single thread on forums, and multiple social media by all the hobgoblins of the internet.

Not really. Most of those studies don’t take into account that the fact that it is a game, motivates players to act in the most chaotic nature self they can, because there are no real consequences. There is no accurate extrapolation into a real event if that is what you’d like to see.
Yeah, we can’t have fun events in game any more. Some poor soul might have their gameplay disrupted.
