Brewmaster

How do people who are playing Brewmaster feeling about it? I am trying to pick a class to be my tank for mythic plus and maybe occasional raiding.

It’s certainly weaker than what it was in BFA. But it’s a fun class with some cool abilities. The rotation is really full too if that is a plus or minus.

I would consider it a plus

Yeah, we’re definitely good for both, unlike vdh which is meta for m+ but so-so for raids. It remains to be seen if we will scale the same with gear towards the end of the expansion with what blizzard did to curb secondary stats.

The good is that we’re not buggy unlike ww, all of our stuff works. But we could use some tweaks here and there.

I am so far disappointed in it. I started leveling my monk first, abandoned it and have leveled multiple hunters and warriors instead, returning to my monk recently out of a sense of obligation and honor to my old friend.

-The changes to brews from BfA sounded good probably on paper, but has made our active mitigation nonsensical and dissatisfying.

-The increased reliance on pets for monks is similarly dissatisfying. I am not sure how Angry Dave is supposed to feel good with so large a role in our play. I personally didnt start playing a monk for pet tanking. I started playing for the get drunk/hair of the dog mitigation style (see previous.) The Venthyr ability seems to double down on this thematic mistake.

-If they were going to bring back any of the old monk abilities, I would have preferred the at will threat bombs that used to be keg smash. If they brought those back and canned Dave, maybe tuning them a bit, so we could actually be useful in the kiting meta I might be willing to overlook the meh of everything else.
