Do brewmasters have a difficult rotation? Im looking to tank and ive made a paladin but idk if i like the class fantasy of tbem lolol so now im leaning brewmaster or demon hunter. A little hesitant to make a dh cuz i aint a huge elf guy
My rotation is this on my keyboard basically:
1- A macro that weave chi wave and rushing jade wind. This is what I press when i am out of energy because neither costs energy.
2 - Blackout kick
3 - Keg smash
4 - breath of fire
F - purify
R - Celestial
F4 - expel harm
You can faceroll any of the 1-4 skills. Chen’s will give you two keg smash charges. If you are using charred passions, you will be throwing in lots of crane kicks.
If you are taking damage, vertical swipe of F, R, f4.
And then cooldowns.
With my current setup, there are brief moments where I am energy capped and all 4 skills are on cooldown, so you can sneak a tiger palm in there but I don’t worry as I am usually kiting or worrying about cc than a measly bit of dmg.
Monks have a lot of spells outside of their main rotation which is only a few buttons.
Play the DH. It is absolutely disgusting how OP they are right now. Trust me on this one.
Brewmaster is fun, although i get outshined by our raids DH tank which takes less effort, brewmaster has a high skill ceiling. There is alot of min max things you can do to continue improving your dps and mitigation. A good example is when staggered damage is set upon your character, the DOT of the damage does not start until .5 seconds afterwards. This meaning, if you’re reactive and use a purifying brew within that .5 window, you reduce your stagger in half reducing that dot damage by half once it finally ticks. Doesn’t seem like much, but over the course of a raid fight it adds up substantially.
If you want a unique playstyle that rewards you for getting better and better at the class. Play BM. If you want a better but simpliar option go DH. BM monk is very viable in all forms of content besides pvp, but thats what we have WW for.
DH rotation is extremely complicated. It’s something like this:
1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,2,1,1,1,1,1,2,space-bar,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,2,collect loot.
Brewmaster on the other hand is amazingly simple. All you have to do is correctly memorize 937 different keybinds and press them all at the exact right moment and not 0.1ms off. And then watch the DH collect your loot.
My spearhand strike (V) is right beside my chi torpedo (C) because I’m not a coward.
Always put interrupt on mouse wheel up. Trust me, it will change your life
I don’t think their rotation is all that difficult, I like others make use of R, F, T and G keyboard buttons for other essentials.
1 is keg,
2 is firebreath,
3 is blackout,
4 is tiger palm (will probably change this later),
5 is purify,
I always like to have an AoE on 6 so that’s spinning crane.
R is celestial,
F is jade wind,
T is leg sweep, and
G is expel.
Might seem wonky to others reading it, but I never miss a beat with this set up. Though I’ll likely switch the binds on tiger palm and jade wind at some stage
I feel like I need to use the mousewherl for camera zoom because shadowlands dungeons are so bad with ceiling clutter. I like to have a wide maxed-out view, but all the collision crap drives me nuts.
AND STOP HAVING MY RING OF PEACE LAND ON A TINY CHAIN ON THE CEILING. FFFFF.
Left mouse tilt is spinning crane kick
Right mouse tilt is vivify
Hahaha I know the feels it’s like an ultimate ‘bruh’ moment
That’s fair though! Good point actually, just for me having on mouse wheel let’s me give those clutch interrupts without even thinking haha
maybe all these years of playing Monk gave me CTE or something because when I try demon hunter I just dont get the tank rotation
Luup, are you still around?
Chuck barrels, breath fire, spin kick. Then some single target stuff or roll around to get out of stuff and take a drink to heal or get tougher. Right? It’s fun. I love it. If we weren’t expected to watch youtube speed runs of every dungeon and skip stuff I would have stayed with brewmaster for the entire game.
Ahaha, you’re a DK, I get it. Good one.
