Brewmaster too bad or just me?

yea we definately do NOT have devs … aint no way they play brewmaster in keys higher than a 2

The class feels overly complicated. Which in turn must make it a nightmare to balance. Add in the fact that it has a low player base representation and here we are.

Monk player base: Hey Blizz, we want updated skill animations, no more pet summoning class, and here’s a list of our fundamental problems and solutions to fix them.
Blizz: *ignores and continue pleases classes with a high player base such as druids, pallys, dh, hunters…
*Monk player base declines
Blizz: Oh look, our player base doesn’t like monks, better spend dev resource and time else where.

The irony is you can go to each of those class forums and easily find people whining about those classes and specs. In short, anecdotal drivel.

As a 618 Guardian Druid myself I can categorically state that Bears absolutely get smashed by the same magic damage mobs in GB, not dropping below 90% is such hyperbole…

I think you are in wrong forum. This monk forum.
Monk’s scaling is just a delusional myth. It’s the least represented tank for a reason.
As a 613 prot war, doing 10s and my first GB was 8. GB was a joke, there was no dmg to care. A straight up +2 on my first GB.

Obviously that went way over your head. It was sarcasm based off past responses.

I’m having more trouble with keys rn than I have had since early SL. The group I usually play with is asking me to switch to DK lol

I’m wondering if I just need to beef up my ilevel a little, adjust my play, or change some talents but I’m going to give up soon if I can’t figure it out.

I did it. Check my new post.

Good luck for you.

The latest video I see from him is 3 weeks ago for state of tanks. Are you referring to that one?

I’m going to reiterate that damage taken is still really frustrating. There are a few packs that can global me in grim batol, and I’m at an ilvl now where a 10 shouldn’t be that hard.

My healer friend says when he heals druids/warriors on the same packs they can basically solo heal themselves, or require very little additional healing. I on the other hand have to either waste cds by popping them immediately and overlap all the cc’s because on the off chance they break free for a half second in between cc’s, I risk taking 5 hits through shuffle that deal somewhere between 1.3-1.7 million damage and stagger damage. Since it’s a new pack and often cc hits early, celestial brew is in essence worthless, I have to be able to survive taking damage to actually make it worth anything. I’m pretty much in dungeon bis, stacked almost as much vers as possible, very little haste. Not sure what else I can do.

I don’t even care that I can’t heal as much myself and depend on healers to be topped, I don’t need to be completely self sustain even though it feels like 3 of the tanks classes still are. To me it’s just insane how fast I can die outside of cc/cds, I thought brews are supposed to be masters of smoothing physical damage? I don’t want bigger shields or heals because it doesn’t solve the problem of literally taking too much damage. Ox stance is probably the ultimate raid-tank ability, but none of those 1.3-1.7 million hits are triggering it even with 40% threshold.

I know brews are useable, there’s a brew in the top 20, but even they are I believe on average a couple key levels below the top tanks. Prot paladin I believe wasn’t in a great spot before either, but they’re getting buffed next week, where’s the brewmaster love?

edit: and yeah someone else mentioned it, but threat feels a bit busted on us too, there have been times when I’m following full rotation and 10 seconds in I start losing aggro, even on primary target…why? Even though there’s not a whole lot I can do about it, I get that maybe a ret absolutely unloading can out-threat my opener, but it shouldn’t be so close that I can lose it mid-fight. This isn’t common but it happens enough to notice.

Monk threat is 100% bugged somehow currently, but I don’t know enough about the inner workings of the engine to have any clue how. On heroic queen 2 nights ago I was losing threat very soon after taunting off of the other tank so I could take the feast, and neither of us were noticing right away because threat is usually a mindless thing you don’t really need to pay attention to, so he was getting auto attacked for 20m. This was happening less than 30 seconds into the fight almost every pull. I can only pack so many keg smashes and other things into a 30 second window, there was nothing more I could have done. The real kicker is I tanked the same exact thing with the same exact co-tank the previous weak on a bear with lower ilvl, never had a single issue.

I also notice myself randomly losing aggro on singular mobs in packs while doing keys, despite every mob in the pack other than my target all being hit by the same amount of keg smashes, breaths, etc.
