Just wanting to know if anyone else is having problems lvling a brewmaster tank? I tried a couple of dungeons last night at around lvl 40 and couldn’t survive through the bosses. I know how to tank, and I’ve read multiple guides on how to play Brewmaster, but still kept dying.
At one point the Deathknight in my group switched and was tanking, and he had no problems staying alive.
I use all my brews, and am playing correctly; however, honestly you shouldn’t have to be mastered at your class at this point to stay alive.

Leveling as brewmaster is just awful in general, but they can feel squishy even at max level content if the healer doesn’t know how they work.
I haven’t leveled a monk since the squish, so I honestly couldn’t tell you from experience.
Two things to keep in mind:
- you’re wearing leather, the DK can take more direct hits because of their plate.
- you don’t have your full kit yet (do you even have mastery yet?). It’s the full kit that allows us to avoid or otherwise damper hits.
Remember that your strength isn’t your armor, but in your maneuverability. Don’t stand toe to toe if your face is getting smashed in, but rather use your mobility to put some distance while letting the healer catch up.
