Brewmaster in need of utility and talent/celestial rework

I miss Zen Meditation also redirecting damage spells to you. That was a cool utility thing and more or less justified its 5 minute cooldown.

Zen Meditation feels so bad and overkill. Brewmaster’s one thing they’re really good at is surviving big hits, especially with Ox Stance. Realistically, where is Zen Meditation actually good and necessary that we can’t just Ox Stance (and possibly combine with a Celestial Brew) it away?

I mean it has its use-cases like Halls of Infusion’s last boss’ tank buster. The water dude channeled a big magic tank buster which you could mitigate entirely with Zen Meditation but it’s still a button that feels bad to press for a flat 5 minute cooldown (and we could mitigate that tank buster anyways with Dampen Harm/Diffuse Magic + Celestial Brew).

Like, we have a 5 minute cooldown to mitigate a damage profile that we’re already good at anyways, even without Ox Stance? They could make it an effective 3 minute cooldown and I don’t think much would change in M+ (not that I think they should do it, just as a note of how not-very-useful this big cooldown is).

It would kinda make sense if Zen Meditation was a general monk ability, as it used to be back in the day, to help all monks survive big AOE phases and stuff. But it became a BRM specific thing and so we’re here.

I kinda want the damage niche but I too would settle for actually having a niche we excel at in M+, whatever that niche may be. Personally I’d like to do big damage and at least a single group damage mitigation skill
