Brewmaster in a MDI

Coming from a Brew tank this is embaressing … this class needs help … the class hasn’t seen any real M+ representation since Shadowlands Season 3 - almost 3 years ago …

Devs … seriously what are you doing ?

Here is one of the top Chinese Brew Tanks in the world attempting to use a Brew in a +9 MDI … arguably its a huge pull - but all the MDI pulls are huge - ITS JUST A +9 AND BREWMASTER CANT HANDLE IT

FIX THIS BLIZZARD

Brewmasters were in the season one DF MDI.

It would help if you played a dwarf for stone form.

Link to OP’s posted video, also with timestamp to where the Brewmaster face-plants on the first pull.

Wake up, devs.

Wake up.

And for anyone who can’t read the meters, read this:

Group was bad too.
No tank can handle that big pull if they aren’t killing things faster and people are dying to basic things (like the mage did)
Bad comp. Bringing a mage why 0 synergy int buff no benefit for damage.

You have 5% physical damage being 100% wasted on the mage.

Also you wouldn’t see A Blood DK there either and we didn’t see one.

Mage deleted twice on the first pull is comedy.

And all the other tanks (except arguably a bear) could have done something to help out.

One of the biggest problems of Brewmaster is that the Brewmaster tree has zero utility. The only things a Monk tank can do to help the team are Ring of Peace and Leg Sweep, and you can get those from any Monk.

They even moved friggin CLASH to the class tree. :joy:

and really that was their downfall - they simply didn’t have the dps

that pull has lasted ~ 30 seconds from most other MDI teams with all different comps - if that pack aint dead (or mostly) within that time frame - all your defensives are gone and your tank is gonna fall over

Literally mentions how its not the BrMs fault though lol

I don’t care about Brew personally but it’s been an egregious oversight for too long.

Even though the mage dies on that first pull, early on that DH is chillin while the Brews fighting for their life.

You have to pour heals into Brewmasters, it’s been like that for years, even during the “immortal tanks don’t need healers” phase we went through last expansion. Brewmasters were always the exception.

Maybe if the healer didn’t have to babysit the tank, they could have helped that Mage. :joy:

BrM is the only tank I vibe with.

If it’s not viable in PvE, then that’s one less tank for everyone lol.

I’d rather PvP on BrM right now, which should be illegal. (It’s awful lol)

You guys checked the video… but you didn’t check the video.

In the first SECONDS of the pull, VDH is already at over 1.5M DPS, then about 10s in, he’s at 4M dps with over 1.25M HPS.

On the other hand, BrM who’s doing the same pull in about the same time is doing barely 1.25M DPS and not even 600k HPS.

1/4th the damage, half the healing, even less survivability. BrM is in serious needs of help.

The PEAK dps VDH is getting before his pack shrinks is about 4.5M
The PEAK dps BrM is getting while his pack isn’t even shrinking is 2M, and that takes so long to reach that VDH at that point is already back down to 3M.

Another thing, yes the BrM was the last to die, but he took SO MUCH DAMAGE that healer had to focus him in order for him to live, that kills the team. Even the commentators couldn’t see that but it’s literally in plain sight.

The Brewmaster aesthetic is great and fun when it works. Definitely needs an overhaul though/and/or buffs. I’ve played just about every tank and the only complaint about brew I have is compared to the others is how complicated it is with the same payout or less

BrM just doesn’t have what other tanks do.

I think the highlight of being a BrM monk was using old Explosive Keg (a few seconds of 100% miss) on bosses’ tank-busting abilities, basically cheesing them.

Yet keg was nerfed a long time ago, so that’s gone. It just reduces damage taken by the mobs hit now.

Monks don’t have the sustain that Blood DKs nor Prot Pallies have.

And they generally aren’t as tanky as any other tank.

We’re likely the worst tanks for magic damage.

Stagger needs a huge buff too, imo.

Brewmaster is too busy and has way too many buttons it has to push in order to get where everybody else is.

Blizzard needs to cut down on the button bloat. Remove Breath of Fire and bake its damage reduction into Keg Smash. Remove the cooldown from Celestial Brew and take it off the GCD (i.e. make it like ignore pain). etc.

I liked the rotation more when Celestial Brew didn’t exist lol.

Already have tiger palm, sun kick, keg smash, fire breath, whirling AoE kick, and purifying brew as a regular part of our rotation.

Thing is they have way too many buttons to get to 1/4th of where everybody else is.

Also no, the spell is cool, but they just need to severely buff everything at once and not nerf it again when the other tanks gets a nerf.

That’s the problem with Brewmaster, though.

It isn’t designed as a functioning spec.

It’s designed as “i saw this in a jackie chan movie and it looked cool”.

For a time it was extremely functional lol, like back in Legion?

When we first got Explosive Keg.

Was having a blast with it then.

Lol
